Do your work, gif, for the glory of chaos.
Rick Rolling is so difficult these days. It used to be, you could just ask your boyfriend to come into his office, point to his computer, and it would be done.
yall ever think about alex and how like…loki just visited them sometimes when alex was younger

You bet your ass. You really think that man, allied himself with a genderfluid, pansexual god for no reason? I should really tell @magnus-falafelking the story of how we met. Wouldn't that be funny.
Magnus being attracted to Alex at first glance and describing her with the same features as Loki only gives me one more reason to believe that during the first book Magnus had an unintentional crush on him
Listen having the flyting as a series finale SUCKED but if I can give RR some credit, Loki's insults really were pretty good. Loki called Magnus "one of Frey's many bastards" and that single line sent me spiralling.
Loki: sometimes I feel like a horrible father
Alex and Sam: SOMETIMES?!
idk what loki and randolph had going on but it wasn't heterosexual
If women are made from elm trees, and men are made from ash trees, then what are people with literally any other gender made of?
loki, in his warm up for his flyting, pointing at a picture of frey: SLUT
Loki: If you're smart, you'll run away. Far, far away
Magnus: Well, I'm not
Magnus: Running away, that is. I am smart
God NOBODY has written anything with Loki and Randolph (not in a ship way just exploring the dynamic) and it drives me insane and honest to god I'll do it myself I'm so intrigued by those two. Set and Amos too I should write something with them but right now I'm more drawn to Loki and Randolph because it reminds me more of a couple of characters in my side project and it makes me gnaw on human bones like a hellbeast. y'know?
Sure ok! Go crazy aaaaaaa!!!!
so i'm rereading mcga and literally one of the only things bothering me is the characterisation of loki. like, stop slandering him! stop slandering him!!! he's not the villain, he's not wholly bad!!! he's a morally grey character!!! stop portraying him as morally black!!! if everyone from norse mythology were getting judged as harshly as he's being judged, then everybody would be a villain. especially the gods. he's not the only one of them who's done morally questionable things!! in fact, his actions seem pretty tame compared to what others have committed- nobody talks about odin raping people, for instance!! just... leave him alone for a bit. he's done things wrong, he's massively fucked up, but so has literally everyone else in this mythology.
PUT SOME RESPECT ON HEIMDALLRS FUCKING NAME !!!!!!!!!
what if children of loki are afraid of needles because of the mouth sewn shut thing
OOOOH YES!
I wonder what other Loki related fears they could have?
"Being genderfluid isn't a real gender! It's just a new trend!" Tell that to my entire species, you dumb fuck.
Imagine having a father named Cruel-Striker and an ex named She-Who-Brings-Grief and people still wonder why you have issues
I reread some of magnus chase and I noticed this detail: Sam being really good with horses?? and being really embarrassed about it??
IS IT BECAUSE LOKI FUCKED A HORSE???😭😭
also jack saying that otis "played tug of war with loki" and otis also being really embarrassed about it
WAS THAT A REFERENCE TO LOKI TYING HIS JUNK TO A GOAT TO ENTERTAIN SKADI IN NORSE MYTHS😭😭😭 AKGYFKHJGAWKRJF WAS THE GOAT OTIS THE WHOLE TIME?>??
I randomly had a thought that children of loki look at the mcu's portrayal of loki and either think "I wish that was my dad/mom" or "Ew, that's how people think dad/mom look and act? What the fuck?"

"but loki's the villain !!1!!1!" who gives a shit this was hot

frederick chase meeting athena: warrior of the mind
nathalie chase meeting freyr: i can show you the world
randolph chase meeting loki: poor unfortunate souls
its so funny how loki just randomly visited alex's family
just casually swung by like "hey yeah i fucked your husband and gave birth to that kid with shapeshifting powers over there--oh im also a god btw haha isnt that funny" and then left again
The clever, cautious, guarded Loki in T1 may arguably be the same character who shows up again as a trauma fountain in Avengers 1 and Thor 2, but he sure ain't the Loki in Ragnarok. And Ragnarok Loki isn't Loki show Loki, either.
Here, I made a handy Venn diagram.
No wonder there's so much in-fighting. My dudes, chill. Y'all talking about 3 - 5 different characters, all named Loki.
My major headcanon for Loki and Sigyn is that before marriage they agreed to have open relantionship. Of course, Loki is the one who benefits the most. Sigyn could have more partners too, but chooses to be loyal to her husband. She doesn't get mad at all of his romances and he would not be angry if she had someone too. Sigyn is also pan, meaning she could be with anyone (as long as they are Loki in disguise).
Same, except I think Sigyn does have more partners as well. Maybe less than Loki, but still. (This is also influenced by my headcanon that Sigyn could have demigod children as well in MCGA)
I said i was gonna rant and by the gods im gonna rant
[This is not gonna make sense and more me shrieking at the gods cus Loki is my blorbo and i hate that Rick fucked up and made him abusive when the first book was litterally implying that he cares about his kids and making him sympathetic.]
Love how i completely forgot Heimdall was there too between reading this in school and getting home lmao. My phone guy is just that forgettable.
ALSO THATS WHY YOUR DOING THIS? THATS THE REASON YOUR GOING WITH RICK?
They got roasted too hard so theyre gonna kill two innocent kids, mulitate their corpses and use those corpses to chain their father while dripping acid on him?
It was (slightly) more understandable when it was cus Baldur (even tho hes probably happier with Hel anyways) died.
Cus like an eye for an eye.... (even tho that was much more than an eye, more like two eyes, a heart and a leg.)
Actually no scratch that killing Baldur technically was an eye for an eye if you think about it.
(Odin took three of Loki's kids, Loki took his son, his daughter in law and then the same son again when he refused to cry to bring him back. Thats also three. Thats one of the reasons i excuse Baldur dying)
I know Magnus probably either didn't realise what was going on here or if he did it didnt register in his brain the whole story. Which, fair enough, directly after this he listens to Kvasir getting cut up by a chainsaw (good, its clear if it weren't for him Loki, Narvi, Vali and Sigyn would've been probably fine) and then watches Alex get thrown out by his.....sperm donor. So what happens to Loki is not at the top of his concerns rn but i really hope he confronts Frey about it later. Cus Magnus has been shown to emphasize with Loki on this. AND THOSE WERE FUCKING CHILDREN! AND THEY WERE KILLED BECAUSE THEY WERE LOKI'S CHILDREN!
WHO ELSE ARE CHILDREN OF LOKI THAT HE CARES DEEPLY ABOUT?
SAMIRAH AND ALEX
Basically i want Magnus to yell at the gods the way Percy does. Because like Luke everything was probably WAS the gods fault.
And before you come at me with the whole 'prophecy has to happen' thing. Save your breath because most of you have no problem with blaming the gods when it came to luke in pjo and this is kinda similar.
Who was to say that Fenris, Hel and Jörmungandr would have caused ragnarok if the Aesir (mostly Odin) didnt take them from their home and seperate them?
Whos to say Loki would start Ragnarok if Odin didnt break their oath and take his children?
Or :
Let his mouth get sewn shut after he got everyone shit (Sif's new hair, Mjollnir, Draupnir, Gungnir, Skidbladnir and Gullinbursti) because suddenly oaths matter now, Odin.
Kill his innocent children (its not stated in myth or mcga how old Narvi and Vali were/are but the general consensus is that they were young), possibly made him watch said children get murdered (Sword of summer its stated by Loki that the gods watched in amusement as Vali disemboweled Narvi but that could be hyperbole) and had a snake drip acid onto his face.
If there was any good in Loki at any point (which there might be. He actually seems pretty chill in sword of summer) then its been snuffed out now.
Thanks Odin.
You signed your death warrant.
Whats that saying again?
He who tries to prevent fate is doomed to cause it?
Or something like that i cant remember the phrase.
I have more to say yet i cant quite articulate it. So im gonna end it here.
Also i am really in the mood for writing a oneshot of the day they caught Loki in Loki's—or maybe Sigyn's? Pov.
Almost finished Ship of the dead the flyting has begun
Also i hate how its being implied that Sigyn wants to leave loki and will betray him.
(Loki you can win this if you pull out the yo mama jokes lmao)
Hey! I am at the last part of book 3 magnus chase. But I must say in the terms of Gods, it is my least favourite series. Loki is shown an evil dude who kills his children, when in reality, one of the reasons of Ragnarok was the illtreatment his childeen got. Sigyn is shown as a victim side character,Thor was meant to be funny, as the farting, show surfing dude, but it was more annoying. What do you think? (I would have written more but limited words+ I might be biased towards MCU's potrayal)
Yeah, I mostly feel the same way about MCGA's portrayal of the gods. I love the series and its characters at large, but I think some of the gods were just portrayed wrong. My main complaints are about Loki and Sigyn, of course; because even if I still love MCGA Loki I just wish he was given more depth besides "Ooh I'm so evil, I torture people and make my own childrens' lives hell and I just wanna destroy the universe". Like,, where are the motives?? Narvi and Vali were mentioned once when -the way I see it- their death is basically what led to Loki wanting Ragnarok. And then there's the fact that he verbally abuses Sigyn when we see them in the cave and completely ignores her otherwise; and the fact that Sigyn herself is portrayed as,, a doormat and that's all.
Thor was also inaccurate but I feel like not that much?? Like the book portrays the gods in a modern setting, and going by the myths, if they were written today I feel like Thor would mostly be like that. But it's true that there's a certain factor of seriousness to his character the series ignored completely.
I feel like this happens with other gods too, like Freyja. She's portrayed as just,, pretty. And that's the one thing people always get wrong about Freyja, she's a warrior too.
But eh, it's also true that you can't really expect much accuracy from this kind of series. After all, they're centered around the protagonists. The gods are plot devices. The author kinda needed to make Loki into the cruel, heartless villain, Sigyn into the tragic victim wife, Thor into the dumb, laughing stock lazy dude, etc.
I just imagined Loki forcing Randolph to listen ‘I want to break free’ by Queen all the time and Loki singing it at loud, very loud voice until Randolph goes mad.
Loki: One of my Variants is an alligator.
Sigyn: I know, he's my favorite one.
Loki: What?
Lokigator: Rawr
Sigyn: *aggressively petting* See? How cute is he? Who's a good boy?? Who's the bestest boy???
