On the crystal theory, and Stolitz break up

ive seen some theorists on reddit saying that the crystal won't make a comeback, and was simply there to showcase Stolas realizing Blitz was "using" him, because if IMP was running, Blitz was probably "using" Verosika as well ( as she has one herself )

Personally, I dont think Viv would put so much attention on it, plus have Stolas sing about their relationship being a 'comfortable lie' only to abandon it. Its the most plausible way for them to officially end their relationship, and im not sure how she will showcase Stolas' 'moving on' if she doesnt break them up sexually, what do yall think

I don't know if you're already thinking the same thing, but it seems to me that Amanda is suffering.

I just saw Amanda the adventurer's new update and when you don't answer things correctly she gets very sad or panics.

like when we have to help the little kitty, if we don't respond well Amanda panics as if she is remembering things. as if she had been alone at a time when she needed help but no one wanted to help her (like the kitten).

or in the episode in which she wants to send things to her friends she looks too sad, besides she shouted "LET ME OUT OF HERE".

or when she asks us if everything is rotten and if we don't answer right she gets upset to the point that she makes wooly disappear until she asks us the question "don't you want to be my friend?" and forces us to say yes, she just answers quite sadly: i think it might be too late….

I don't know if this already has a meaning (I didn't find out about amanda for a long time).

if you have it please help me to understand it, and if not… what do you think?

FINALLY

FINISH WITH ONE OF THE THOUSAND THEORIES THAT I HAVE FROM DHMIS 😭

Family theory: Roy and Leslie were a very happy couple who had two children, everything was happiness and love, until one day David (the younger brother) had a car accident. The boy was running after a kite and in that he was run over by a car. killing him instantly (or maybe not)

after that, the whole family started having problems. Leslie went crazy because she was obsessed with having two children, and since now she only had one left, she could do everything possible to fill the void that David had left.

Roy also missed his son very much and probably developed too many mental problems from his loss. even though he, too, was fed up with Leslie's obsession.

and the older brother... he suffered a great depression and guilt thanks to what happened, which increased more and more, since his parents were so involved in their worlds that they did not pay attention to him again.

During that time, Leslie convinced Roy to adopt a son. (this will sound very strange, but most likely that child who adopted is Red Guy)

This made David's older brother feel much worse, since he saw how his mother gave more attention to the new son than to him.

So one night, he broke a window, took a trace of broken glass, and cut his own throat, causing his own death.

leaving Leslie and Roy with only one child who was not even theirs and who also wanted more than anything else to meet his true family, since he felt that he did not fit in with Leslie and Roy, because they were not equal to him.

all these events lead to the divorce of Leslie and Roy

Roy, for his part, continued to have severe mental problems, but instead of seeking help, he decided to focus on his business. a food business

while Leslie, realizing that she could no longer have a happy family like before, decided that she was going to have the same family as before, and she would get it at all costs.

so she decided to make a pact with a demon who promised her that her family would be together again, just not in the same world and with a few requirements

so the devil gave her a book that told her everything she had to do to get her family back

and so she did. she dug up the body of her real children, kidnapped roy and killed him

she created puppets and in them she put the corpses of her children and her husband

He gave them life and performed a ritual for the four to be transferred to the new world where they would be a family. the world of don't hug me i'm scared

but of course. dealings with demons cost and are not always reliable.

the older brother managed to pass into that world, but he could never get to where his family is. it only remained as a memory in the mind of David / yellow guy

Leslie was also turned into a puppet, but unlike the others, she was turned by the demon, which left her with her real appearance. and yet, she was never able to summarize her family, instead she can control everything that her son does (and the other 'filler' characters that accompany him)

something totally different happened with Roy. he knows what Leslie did, because he was still alive when she started it all. and because he is no longer just Roy in that puppet body. the devil is also in there. transforming Roy into a bigger monster who can change certain things in that world. (Not all of them, since the only day he can do as he pleases is June 19. Father's Day, otherwise Leslie is in control)

and lastly David. he is in the world Leslie wanted to take them to, just not with his family. but let's remember that David, like his brother, died and was transferred to a puppet with a life of its own. so david is now just another character in yellow guy's brain. in this he is represented as his friend, but he is really the person with whom he shares a body

now..

who is david and who is yellow guy?

well David is represented in the way we saw him throughout the series, an innocent child, a bit silly, with attention deficit and hyperactivity.

while yellow guy is the smart guy we see in the last chapter, this can be clarified since to wake him up they had to change his batteries. And let's remember that the original body in the world of don't hug me i'm scared is the puppet. this also hints at why Leslie yelled at him "YOU ARE NOT MY REAL SON!" because the one who was speaking at that moment was the puppet, not David.

ㅤㅤ

but what happened to red guy?

well, in the real world he stayed with Leslie after the divorce, but she didn't take care of him since she was focused on recovering the family she had before. so he learned to take care of himself. Seeing this, the demon figured it would be a good idea to put him in the world of don't hug me i'm scared. but not as a puppet, rather as a clone that accompanied yellow guy from the first moment

so now there are two red guys

one in the real world, and one in the world of don't hug me i'm scared

but i will talk about that in another post

ㅤㅤ

but where is duck?

well i have a little subtheory about that

as you can see in the little animated short in the transportation chapter, duck was something like the family pet

"and to go back to being the family they used to have, they also needed the pet" maybe that was what the devil thought

however, let us remember that there are only two seasons of the series, curiously each one tries to focus on a character, the first season was about red guy and the second about yellow guy

maybe the third season will try to duck and there we will see what his relationship is in all this and why he is in that world

ㅤㅤ

And why did all this occur to me?

Well, the central idea was because in different episodes of the series you can see how the characters have organs, bleed or get welts or wounds. things that wouldn't happen to ordinary puppets

but if it is normal in a human body

so if those things happen to those puppets, it's because they're not just puppets

I had this theory since the previous season, but there were many things that did not fit. However, this last season finally gave me the clues that I was missing so that everything would fit.

Of course there are still things missing. after all it's just a theory, and according to the creators all theories are real, so yes.

ㅤㅤ

this is one of my THOUSAND theories of don't Hug me i'm scared

Sorry if you did not understand certain things

If you have doubts about something just ask me and I will answer

What if Yamato's favourite food is walnuts because when he was just rescued from the lab he found a walnut and ate it, which was possibly the first food he remembers? But then again, how would he have known how to open it... Or how he would have realised that he should only eat what was inside... And in general, how would he have decided that it was okay to eat? Okay, I agree, a bit of a stupid theory

Guys, I could be tweaking, but is the end of threadville where Rocky and oliver die a metaphor for how farmers have to put down dogs if they attack the livestock?

Yeah, Our Grandma Has That Mirror For A Reason. I Think Supernob Mentioned That In The Puppet World,

Yeah, our grandma has that mirror for a reason. I think supernob mentioned that in the puppet world, all puppets have four fingers. How many fingers are on that hand? That's right four.

Grandma knows something

On top of that, I've also been seeing theories that the entity is our grandpa.

Another threadville theory!!!

You know what? I've been wondering about the entity since the game came out? How do they know so much about the puppets? I don't think they're physically in threadville, so how'd they get enough information to write the threadville pages? I have a theory

Here, take a look at this:

Another Threadville Theory!!!

No, no, take a CLOSER look

Another Threadville Theory!!!

Look who it is!

What if "piper" is doing some sort of spying?

Now,I know this theory could totally be proven wrong in the blink of an eye, but just here me out!

This could also be a child if you observe the decor on the journal. I'd think a child is pretty easy to manipulate. So what if this entity has influenced "piper" in some way to get information on the puppets within threadville.

Also, very small Rocky theory:

I think there's a reason Rocky doesn't DIRECTLY live in threadville.(you probably know why)

Theory about Threadville!

( tagging @st4rry4543 so they can see it!)

So we know how Threadville is in this kind of other world right?

And that we came here because of our sweet grandmas mirror? Well..

What if Threadville was a show and the producers somehow made the mirror portal to film it? But our grandma (I’m calling her Rebecca now hehe) in a turn of events was trusted with the portal because she designed the puppets?

This could open a lot of questions and answers. Like it could explain how she even HAS a magical mirror portal in her attic, but it also raises the question…like- why was it concealed? Well I have the answer (for this theory)

Human interaction was corrupting the world.

Okay okay hear me out on this! The puppeteer guy could be like a person who..Yaknow ACTUALLY puppeteers the puppets? Or like I don’t know told them what to do? And they could’ve gotten trapped as a spirt/Entity in the threadville world. Because what happens when us, A technically human shows up? BAM! Rocky turns..

Maybe the world needs two technically humans to be in threadville in order for the corruption to work! And ALSOOO! My idea for where charlotte came from was that, Rebecca found a baby puppet and decided to like, Make it into baby Charolette! And she had to quickly get her to threadville without being there too long to actually start corrupting the world! Hence why nobody saw the “parent” of Charolette! And this could mean there IS an exit from threadville but only people who worked on the show and Rebecca know how to get out.

Might add on this later!!!

Seeya peeps

Question! Is the prototype an ACTUAL prototype?

We all know that a "prototype" is the test, first, or unfinished version of a product, so could this mean something worse than the prototype is out there? Or does it mean that he's the first successful bigger body/ experiment?

He's also known as "The original," the original of what?

Question! Is The Prototype An ACTUAL Prototype?

Quick/short finding frankie theory:

What if it was a kids jumping park originally up until smth happened and someone(maybe the other frankie) turned it into a game -show, and if you look behind henry before his head explodes it says "Time out corner"there's a time-out corner. And also what if the people watching Think it's fake bc my mind refuses to believe that 9000+ ppl are insane enough to be fine with Real death on tv without calling the police.

SO what i’m saying is, what if his soul became the magic/spirit of the house and his body became the mountains protecting his family???

this is all I’m gonna say because I’m still processing the mv but here are my first thoughts

First:

THE 3 STARS MEAN SOMETHING I JUST CANT FIGURE IT OUT !!!

This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts
This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts

I know what the one star represents. It represents straight Taylor Swift™️.

This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts
This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts

It’s the persona she puts on. I know that. But for the life of me WHAT DO THE THREE STARS MEAN!!! I would say they represent Taylor calculating everything and putting on her public persona, but then why wouldn’t she just use the one star, to keep the code going? It also doesn’t make sense as a parallel to cardigan? I would say karlie but ? Feels like a reach. There’s not enough evidence. Someone smarter than me pls help. Btw the cardigan parallel is not my original theory I saw someone else say it first!

I would consider Liz but in the context of the mv I feel like it doesn’t make sense?

This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts

Second:

if it’s the speak now vault, why is it orange? Also, it’s the same design at rep vault. 🙈

This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts
This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts
This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts
This Is All I’m Gonna Say Because I’m Still Processing The Mv But Here Are My First Thoughts

That’s all for now I might be reaching but idk!

I love reading all the stories here; I’ve been up and down the notes and I have several versions saved to my drafts, one of which I’ve begun writing out my own Fae story on. However, this post has actually had an influence on how I interpret the play I’m currently in, so it seems only appropriate to reblog a version of it on the eve of our play opening as well.

The play is called Almost, Maine, and it’s a subtly surrealist series of small town romances. The blurb on the back of the script describes it as “a midwinter night’s dream”. Basically, weird, seemingly mystical things are happening in the lives of people in this town as they fall in and out of love, and at the end of the night, everyone sees the northern lights. You could read it just abstractly as ‘the northern lights make weird (or should I say wyrd) things happen’, or you could even rationalize most of the things away, but I’ve decided that it makes sense that Almost (that’s the name of the town) just has a very heavy Fae presence and the Fae--likely excited by the northern lights--are meddling in everyone’s affairs--much like in Midsummer Night’s Dream.

I even decided that one of the characters I play, Ginette, actually is a Fae who left the Fae realm because she’s in love with a human, Pete. That explains, for me, how she *SPOILERS* walks all the way around the Earth in about 10 minutes for him--it’s done with the Fae magic she has, but in my interpretation, she has literally travelled all that distance for him. Then, when the northern lights appear at the end, it’s even deeper for me, because I’ve decided that for Ginette that’s a sign that the Fae have finally approved of her romance with Pete.

Pete would be incredibly overwhelmed by all this. He freaks out when she says “I love you” for the first time. It’s best he doesn’t know all this.

Anyways, I know this is a digression from the main subject matter of this post, but I just wanted to share how considering the Fae has been useful to me in deepening my acting and my character backstories. Thanks for all the great stories!

So as we know the whole 'being in the mafia' thing, was because dazai wanted to find a purpose in life. So, I was thinking, that dazai's suicide attempt, where mori found him first (I believe its a headcanon and not actual canon) and dazais first(?) reason to attempt at all was because he thought 'the whole purpose in life is to die, right?' or maybe something like 'if I have no purpose, then why not die?'. Like something along those lines, yk?

Tags

Who will mori choose to go back to the pm?

I think that the 3 best candidates would honestly be dazai, kyoka and tanizaki.

Dazai and kyoka for obvious reasons, tanizaki because his ability is very useful in crime oriented business. We've seen tanizaki get violent multiple times in the show, altough to protect kr revenge his sister.

Now my thought process with dazai was, that firstly because we've already seen dazai in the pm, he wouldnt go back. It's been done, we've basically completed the demon prodigy saga. But now, after taking into consideration how dazai acted with fyodor and chuuya, and from what we know also killed chuuya. I'm not sure if the ADA can take dazai back. I mean in the end, he did take a life, and I think that at least kunikida wouldn't be ok with that. Which obviously would let mori have dazai vulnerable, his colleges are confused on what they should think of dazai now, after he's slipper back into his 'demon prodigy mask' (you can see the way he acts and the plans he puts in motion become more and more violent and cunning (angos car crash, chuuyas DEATH)) so idk it seems like a very real option.

And kyoka, well it could be a whole arc. Kouyou being shown that you really can't escape the mafia, kyoka being back in the mafia losing hope, the ADA trying to get kyoka back, basically starting war with the mafia. I think it's less likely than dazai or tanizaki, but again, still and option.

And I just thought about, what if they took ranpo.

That would be such a shitshow. It's basically two elise's in the mafia.

This is just kinda a brain dump, it doesn't really make sense I think and I have described my thoughts very very vaguely but my brain feels like it's moving faster than my hands and bla bla bla

Gonna pull an idiotic theory out of my ass rn

Rick Prime has regenerative abilities because he's a vampire, he's able to be in multiple places 'cause of vampire teleportation. Motherfucker regularly flies around as a lil space bat and feasts upon other Ricks to stay alive.

This also explains why he hasn't aged a day since offering Rick C-137 the portal gun spiel.

Also the whole mystery of Rick C-137's and Prime's relationship prior to the killing of Rick's family can be summed up to a homoerotic vampire/human entangelment where Rick is both Prime's lover and his blood bag.

Rey and Kylo the ultimate Sith lords (Spoilers)

Hi, whoever the fuck wrote the script, storyline whatever for starwars 9 rise of the starwalkers is a dead mean to me, fucking asshole ruinined it

Do you realize the opportunity you just fucking yeeted into the ocean like Kylo did his saber???? REY AND KYLO as the ultiate sithlord pairing!

Fucking hell dude think abot it, they have that awesome magic trick where they can give each other actual fucking objects through their minds accross actual fucking planets lightyears apart! Thats ridiclously over powered but nooope instead of making them one of the most iconoc and powerful sithlords you dragged them straight through shit, killed one fucker off, made the other fucker have the generic “jedi, good guy, no bad, justice n’ hope” storyline. Go fuck yourself

Just-- Rey has never been a ‘good’ character, in my opinion the whole jedi stuff, the good side, fuckin ‘force shall be with you’ typa shit is getting on her nerves, like for fucks sake she’s the grand daughter of that wizard dude called Aubergine or whatever she would have fucking accepted her fate as sith lord if Kylo wouldn’t have shown up, bitch would have killed the fucker. Do you realize into what an interesting and cool character Rey would have grown if she had just absolutely lost her marbles because of constant strain of being “good’ fighting against her truly evil nature. A batshit crazy sithlord would have been the cherry on top of the entire Star Wars franchise. The betrayel of her ‘new family’ that utter mindfuck, just just why didn’t it happen.???

N’ you know what Kylo doesn’t get fucking killed off like that, Who ever the fuck decided on that go home, you’re not just drunk, you’re retarted. Kylo was the first star wars character I genuenly liked, because I saw the utter opportunity in him, fucker has a conflict of being good inside and isn’t as batshit crazy as Rey ‘cause he’s the son of Han Solo or whatever but dude him and Rey could be the most powerful sith lords ever to have been created, more amazing than fucking Darth Vader!

BUt naaaahhhhh, let’s instead make this another extremily predictable generic star wars movie where ‘hope’ and ‘friendship’ and ‘force’ and that fucking jedi crap will always end up on top, because the bad guys shouldn’t win bla bla bla fuck off

I get that the message of hope in impossible situations is supposedly encouraging but no, fucking let the bad guys win for once! Please...!

And you know what, since I have some artistic abilities I’m probably making a comic and fixing the ending of that shit, because fuck you thats why

so, we all know how the first person to get a quirk in the BNHA universe pretty much just lights up their body. when i looked them up, the gender was unconfirmed. so what i’m hearing is, it is hypothetically possible for the first person with a quirk to have a dick that can light up like a lightsaber? because i’m pretty sure that's it. does it make a sound? like the- fwoom

has someone already talked abut this??? please gimme any links i just wanna know

Theres this one animation and the end depicts Jack in front of the Bunny Farm game and Felix freaks out; I love the idea of Jack lowkey haunting Felixs ass- Im pretty sure Felix knows Jacks ghost is at unrest one way or another (see: hes most likely the shadow person who saw Bon kill Rose to some extent, if not Felix then its Sophie.)

Ive seen people speculate that maybe Felix killed Jack, but I dont think Felix has the balls to do that on purpose. Maybe he pushed Jack down the well if they were fighting? Maybe Sophie was there and saw? (bc Ive also seen people imply Felix is the one giving Sophie the pills but I aint sure ab that; if he is and she Did see Jack die (by Felix’s hands?) I could see why he would encourage her to take them though) Given that the well was prominent she probably does know more ab whatever happened to Jack but cant remember yet

Not to mention Felix locked up the fucking animatronics (In the same forest he buried Molly and Ed in by the way.) after 3 people (Jack, Rose, and Susan) went missing (not even counting Ed and Molly)- Susan also mentioned Felix opened the restaurant only weeks after Jack went missing.) so he was well aware that things were dangerous obviously, is probably aware its Jack, and is consumed by guilt because this is all his fault that people are going missing and dying

Also wanna take this time to point out that Cyberfun Tech or whatever its called, the company who made the animatronics, is probably involved more than we’re shown

theory time

So I was rewatching the Walten Files and came to a few different conclusions. Everyone in the fandom seems to think Bon is Jack, form what I see, but it wasnt clicking to me. After all, Bon killed Rosie, and it wouldnt make sense for Jack to kill his wife if he loved her- I get the whole “Jack lost it after losing his kids” but something really just wasnt clicking for me, so I did some deducting.

For a bit I assumed Jack was actually ShowBear for the above reason plus; He guided Sophie towards the truth, he seems much more of a “passive” presence, and idk he kinda fucking looks like Jack:

“Rose should be home by then. If shes not, you call me. Got it?”

This made me think, alright. Could be a husband concerned about his wife. But outta nowhere? Why would Jack be concerned when Rosie is a functioning adult. Like what would he have to worry about? Why would he be worried about her not being back 4 hours when she was supposed to, while hes running the company and not home? Worried your wife not coming home from taking your daughter to the dentist isnt exactly normal unless he had a reason to think otherwise.

My immediate thought was that maybe Rose was cheating on Jack, or Jack suspected she was.

I really dont want that to be true, but then someone in the comments brought this up:

image
image
image

Theyre fucking right.

Wolf in sheeps clothing: Implying not everything is as it seems/ the wolf is lying.

Thinking deeper into this. Bon was playing “Hide and Seek” with Sha aka Rosie. That could be an implication to Jack having to go find Rosie because she may have been cheating. (Sophie also finds Sha in a chicken coop (?) Barn? only thing that could be thought of there is “roll in the hay” aka she was found cheating with someone else maybe?)

Not only this, but Rosie asks Sophie if shes “still beautiful”.

Jack could be concerned that when Rosie takes Sophie to the dentist, Rose could be cheating. That could imply that shes cheating with Sophie right there.

That could mean Rose is asking Sophie if Sophie still essentially loves her, or a better worded equivalent, after seeing her mother cheat on her father/ seeing her mother do something ugly.

(Sidenote, in the Relocation tape, Rosie is asking “Sophie, where am I?” Maybe Sophie saw the whole thing? WHy would she be asking for Sophie? Also Im pretty sure this shadow character is Felix, implying he saw what happened to Rosie to an extent,)

image
image

Moving on, @ LadyJadeShade on twitter mentioned to me that Bons chest is ripped out- could be implying Jacks heart is ripped out bc of Rosie cheating.

Taking that into consideration, I could 100% see why Jack would be angry enough to kill Rose while in turmoil in the Bon animatronic. That, and Ive heard that Little Bon could be representing Sophie which would make sense if her father is in/possessing Bon. (And Bon seemed to be having a mental breakdown after the kids where shown to be dead in the Bunny Farm video.)

TLDR; Rose might have been cheating on Jack, hence why he wanted to kill her in the first place after his death.

“He had 3 beautiful children,“

image

And maybe he wanted to “make his wife beautiful” too?

Another concern as well is, how did Jack die? I originally wanted to say if he was she showbear, then whatever was in Bon killed Jack, but that kinda went out the window.

Those are just some thoughts for now, if anything has been officially said that contradicts this stuff then lmk

Now that they say it, I think I found something of Nebula's personality (or what I think from what I saw, I hope this doesn't end up in headcanon): •The most obvious thing is that she has a great sense of justice.

•She is optimistic and tries to see the positive side of things.

•She is analytical and prefers to think before acting.

•She sometimes acts childish just like her brother.

Bonus: She is the same as Mabel (Gravity Falls) in the fact that she is taller than her brother who looks almost like her XD

/

I hope this is a reality in the future.

A realization

I was thinking... Henri did mark Arthur with a ritual that basically ties the affected's life to the life of the person casting it, right?...

That means if they somehow manage to kill the devil, which technically is still Henri... there's a high likelihood Arthur may die next season, he likely still has that carved on him, he didn't get that removed like he did with the spying one that was on his back I think.

Next season will be interesting to say the least.

I think this post solved nearly all of the confusion that comes with respawns being canonized, and especially with some of the introductions of Downpour because the slugcats were originally a mod that VideoCult canonized. However, I think some of those special cases actually deepen these themes of qualia, and despite the confusion should be considered part of the story. After all, Downpour did have a lot of work done on it by VideoCult to make the More Slugcats mod fit.

The first question is always "why didn't Arti's spugpups come back?" Or any slugpups for that matter, why do they seem to die forever? The answer is that tie of mental state to spiritual state, and how qualia links everything together. So, the slugpups are simply not developed enough to respawn alongside you, and stay in your cycle. I believe they still respawn, but in another cycle, or "plane" as Gnosticism would say, at a point before they met you.

I Think This Post Solved Nearly All Of The Confusion That Comes With Respawns Being Canonized, And Especially

This is also what I think is meant by the echoes, where your cycle has to converge with theirs to percieve them, and even then only temporarily. Each creature is locked in its own personal plane, where it respawns at the last moment of concentrated qualia. The echoes even show this, like the Farm Arrays echo reminiscing about their life in the Farm Arrays, confused why they still look at this simple farmland even as it becomes overgrown and eventually snows over. For the Slugcats, a shelter is exactly that moment of qualia, where the experience of peaceful rest is not related to the previous events, and sleep serves as a way to ease the transition between death and rebirth.

The next question is Hunter. Why is he on permadeath mode with a time limit? Again we go back to that link between the physical brain and karma, Hunter has cancer. And not just any cancer, he has The Rot, which is explicitly a brain cancer that infects nueral tissue. When he dies, either before the time limit or when he reaches it, the Rot completely takes over before he can respawn, leaving behind the Hunter Longlegs that we see in Gourmand's campaign if you failed a Hunter save before playing Gourmand. It's possible Hunter does respawn, but before the start of his campaign and before the Rot stopped him from being able to keep the qualia of shelters, perhaps in the arms of No Significant Harassment like he sees when he ascends.

I Think This Post Solved Nearly All Of The Confusion That Comes With Respawns Being Canonized, And Especially

That would explain why we always have the chance to replay the campaign and avoid dying this time.

Next, Saint. What the hell is happening with Saint? To begin, the oversized and difficulty-spiked elephant in the room is Rubicon.

I Think This Post Solved Nearly All Of The Confusion That Comes With Respawns Being Canonized, And Especially
I Think This Post Solved Nearly All Of The Confusion That Comes With Respawns Being Canonized, And Especially

Why is there an entire area of shuffled up rooms, some from regions long before Saint's campaign, that is nearly as big as Five Pepples' interior down here? Why is it clearly trying to stop Saint from perpetuating what seems to be his own cycle of becoming an echo only to be returned where the campaign began and somehow reverted to normal, by a ghostly slugcat? I think it's explained by what you said about the Void Worms being responsible for the creation of new worlds, as well as by how the Void Sea works. What we are told us that the Void Sea eats up the world from below as new particles are added on top, burying what came before. If the Void Worms can build a new world, then building Rubicon as a prison for Saint isn't too far fetched. Whatever the reason for its creation, it must be slowly taking resources away from their efforts to layer the new world on top, because by the time of Saint's campaign the Void Sea seems to have eaten way past where it did before, without any clear layering on top.

I Think This Post Solved Nearly All Of The Confusion That Comes With Respawns Being Canonized, And Especially

Saint is trying to Ascend EVERYTHING. He's trying to get the Void Sea to eat up the whole world, one cycle at a time, one ascended Void Worm at a time. He's trying to wipe the slate clean, but why? I think the answer is simply it's his purpose. He has been purposed to Ascend the Iterators, and there are too many of them, in too many different cycles, for him to get them all manually. He does not want to wipe out the Void Worms, only leave a blank slate for the new world to be built from. Saint gives Karma 10 to every creature he comes across, preparing them for when the Void Sea consumes them. It may explode their brains while he's at it, but it's mercy compared to the perpetual torment of deathless memory. Saint is ending the world, and here that is good because it means a new world will be built on top using the sacrifice of all those forcibly Ascended, repopulating all of the Void Worms he had to Ascend to get here. It may not be a good ending for the world, but it is a new beginning for what will replace it when nothing remains.

I'm shocked how well I was able to see all of @grunckle 's observations about the story's themes fitting Downpour, but it does make sense since VideoCult took a lot of creative liberties with the More Slugcats mod. I could probably go on more of a tangent about how Gourmand follows the tenet of Qualia and memory preservation while disobeying almost everything about Ancient culture, or how lizard lineage could work despite the slugcat resetting to before they killed the lizard if they die, but I think this post is long enough and I'll leave someone else to phrase all that better than I can.

Qualia and Ascension in Rain World

Cabinet Beasts

(To clarify I'm mostly talking about base-game lore and not including Downpour, but honestly most of these things can transfer over)

Qualia

One thing that’s relatively hidden in Rain World’s text and subtext is the concept of qualia. Qualia is described as being, “sensory experiences that have distinctive subjective qualities but lack any meaning or external reference to the objects or events that cause them.” It’s a personal sensory experience that cannot be comprehended by another person other than the individual themself, and are often hard to convey via language.

Qualia is a reoccurring motif in Rain World, but what’s more important is the way in which it’s conveyed to the player. The picture that’s painted is that of a world or civilization that placed a great importance on the individuals’ experience, and it’s shown through pearls or environmental details.

Here are some examples of qualia appearing in the text through pearls.

“It's qualia, or a moment - a very short one. Someone is holding a black stone, and twisting it slightly as they drag their finger across the rough surface. The entire sequence is shorter than a heartbeat, but the resolution is extraordinary.”

“A memory... but not really visual, or even concrete, in its character. It reminds of the feeling of a warm wind, but not the physical feeling but the... inner feeling. I don't think it has much utility unless you are doing some very fringe Regeneraist research.”

“This one... is authored by Five Pebbles, when he was young. There has been an attempt to scramble the data, but it's sloppily done, and most is still somewhat legible. It's written in internal language, or thoughts, so it is hard for me to translate so you would understand.”

But the most prominent examples of qualia and it’s importance in this world are the Memory Crypts and possibly ancient naming conventions. The deep purple pearl (shortened) found in Shaded Citadel states,

“In this vessel is the living memories of Seventeen Axes, Fifteen Spoked Wheel, of the House of Braids (…) Seventeen Axes, Fifteen Spoked Wheel nobly decided to ascend in the beginning of 1514.008, after graciously donating all (ALL!) earthly possessions to the local Iterator project (Unparalleled Innocence), and left these memories to be cherished by the carnal plane. The assorted memories and qualia include:”

Ancients likely mutated their own neural tissue into the cabinet beasts we see in Shaded, which were used to store their memories and qualia before ascension. Even james said once "how 5 pebs got the rot is a good hint here" in response to someone asking how cabinet beasts work, and how they're made.

Adding on to this, ancient (and iterator) naming conventions seem to be built off of the concept of qualia, with them focusing on individual images or experiences.

Nineteen Spades, Endless Reflections

Droplets upon Five Large Droplets

Two Sprouts, Twelve Brackets

Looks to the Moon

Generally, this all points to a world focused on the expression and preservation of the individual experience. You could even consider some of the echo dialogue as more evidence for this running motif, but I already have too many quotes lol.

Ascension

So now time to talk about my interpretation of ascension. In short, you turn into a worm, but I should probably explain more than that.

So its been surfacing on rw-tumblr that the light in the end of the game is called the egg in files. Although file names shouldn't be taken as fact or canon, it is pretty obvious given the birth imagery.

But something a little lesser known is what happens to the worm that takes us down to the void-sea depths. Void worms normally have a bright glowing effect, on their body, which is present for ours as well. But after it unhooks us, it swims down, and when it passes us on it's way back that glowing effect is gone.

To be honest, I don't really think this can be interpreted in many ways, but the most obvious one and the one I personally subscribe to is that the worm laid the egg. Biology and spirituality really aren't that different in Rain World, it's implied that karma is stored in the brain through Five Pebbles's slideshow. Adding on to that, we see voidspawn after eating an iterator neuron. One's spiritual state is innately tied to their mental state, and that dictates what and what they can't perceive.

And for that reason I decide to take a more biology leaning approach to what happens in the ending. At face value, we are fertilizing the egg of a void worm to be reborn into a voidspawn.

Not only do void spawn and void worms have multiple characteristics in common, (worm like bodies, tendrils/tentacles, glowing heads, void spawn look microbial and void worms are likely some of the oldest "life" in game)

Qualia And Ascension In Rain World
Qualia And Ascension In Rain World

but voidspawn are seen inside egg-like coverings and share the same egg light seen in the end of the game, confirmed to be the same thing by Videocult in a livestream they did.

Videocult stream

I believe that all this points to ascension being re-birth into a voidspawn, which eventually undergoes metamorphose into a worm. Higher-dimensional beings, who manifest and give birth to a new world.

So how does this tie in with qualia? Another thing you might know is that the area in which void spawn are most plentiful is Shaded Citadel and areas in Shoreline near Shaded. And shaded is absolutely packed with Cabinet Beasts, even outside Memory Crypts. I believe these qualia-storing creatures are what manifest voidspawn.

From what we see in ascension, it still looks physical and largely based around the real world. Hunter still has his scars and see's an iterator, survivor sees the slug tree in a more mystical and formless state, and monk sees survivor frankly just looking like a normal slugcat. I think that ascension is a product of qualia. We transcend our earthly knowledge via the egg, and our own qualia is used to give birth to a new world. This is why voidspawn appear most in Shaded Citadel.

Now I won't be getting into Void-Worm theories too much here, I'm mostly focused on ascension but I can't ignore the Gnosticism parallels. For those who don't know, Void Worms heavelly resemble the Yaldaboath from Gnosticism, and running with that some people theorize that, like the Yaldabaoth, void worms are responsible for manifesting the material world. Ascension seems to be a mix of the concepts of Gnosis and Nirvana, but I believe it might lean more on Gnosis.

From my limited knowledge, Gnosis is a few things, some of which being a state achieved from experiences or intuitions, and an essential part to salvation is personal knowledge. While researching a bit, I came across this text by Peter Wilberg called "From NEW AGE to NEW GNOSIS" which brings up some comparisons between Gnosticism and qualia as well.

"Gnosis is subjective knowledge of an inner universe made up not of matter, energy, space or time but of countless qualitative spheres or ‘planes’ of awareness – a knowledge obtained directly through inter- subjective resonance. It is the subjective science of this inner universe."

One thing though that has been brought up when discussing this is how this can be consolidated with the tone of the ending. It is pretty un-ambiguously happy, but if we're going with the Void worm Yaldaboath theory then that would put a bit of a sour twist on it right?

I agreed with these for some time, but now I actually think it ties in perfectly with Rain World's core themes as stated by the devs, "overcoming differences and finding empathy." I don't think the void worms are "evil" or malevolent, but I think they (and subsequently us after ascending) play a key role in demonstrating this theme.

By manifesting the physical world, we allow these souls to experience life and develop their own qualia so one day they can ascend themselves. We are shown compassion, and pass it forward.

The Barbie Theory Part 1 of 2: Timeline

The way I see it, there are five eras in the Barbie movies: Ancient, Historical, Present, Near Future, and Postmodern. Strung together they make up the timeline of the Barbie universe, from its inception to its death.

The Barbie Theory Part 1 Of 2: Timeline

Ancient

In the beginning there were fairies, but they were not meant to last.

The first beings to rule the earth in this universe were not humans, but fairies. They lived alongside mermaids, enjoying magic of all sorts. There were many different kinds of fairies: rainbow, butterfly, crystal, to name a few. They were hardly at peace with each other, there are plenty of instances where people try to unjustly usurp power such as in Fairytopia, or provoke war with neighboring factions such as in Mariposa and the Fairy Princess. Certain kinds also had natural predators (Mariposa) and they were extremely dependant on the natural environment (Fairytopia: Mermaidia). Their societies were fragile.

By the time we get to the historical era titles, fairies are mostly gone, or at least hidden. Where did the humans come from?

They’re wingless fairies like Elina. While Elina scored some wings by the end of her first film, not every fairy is going to get that lucky. Some of these people grew bitter at being rejected by fairy society and chose to form a place of their own. Somewhere where they could live their lives free of ridicule.

They learned to build tools to compensate for their lack of magic. Their technology got better, yet their resent for their magical cousins remained. This conflict eventually escalated into a war. Perhaps this was already happening during the events of Mariposa, with Henna conspiring to decimate the Butterfly Fairy populations by removing their primary protection from the Skeezites. Laverna could have agreed to use the water poison to massacre the mermaids in Mermaidia. The wingless end up winning this war, and the fairies go into hiding, practically extinct.

The Barbie Theory Part 1 Of 2: Timeline

Historical

Old wars forgotten, magic makes its way back to the world

We fast forward to the middle ages and magic is still fairly abundant, albeit hidden. In this era we see two instances where humans are let back into the realm of magic: Swan Lake and Diamond Castle. Interestingly enough, both of these take place during the middle ages (based on clothing styles of the peasants (Barbie’s looks are pretty anachronistic) and the architecture) which is the earliest of all the “historical” movies.

In Swan Lake Odette stumbles upon a hidden forest where she discovers she’s the only one who can defeat an ancient evil. She succeeds and marries into royalty.

In Diamond Castle the Diamond Wives are sent on a quest to stop another ancient evil, and in return are given flowers that grow diamonds. By the end they become close with the kingdom’s heirs.

You’ll notice that from here on out, magic is strongly associated with royalty. These two royal families that have knowledge of magic will come to shape the course of history until the end of time.

I personally think that the 12 dancing princesses are related to Odette because of both their magics’ emphasis on hidden realms. Annaliese is also in this line, her mother’s name is Genevieve and the timing works.

The Barbie Theory Part 1 Of 2: Timeline

Present

Magic still thrives in the dark

It’s unsurprising that Barbie is the next person to be brought into the world of magic. In Thumbelina, Fashion Fairytale and A Fairy Secret Barbie gets a glimpse of the hidden world. Away from humans, and away from each other, fairies have evolved.

One very noticeable thing is that two out of the three types of fairies we see in this era are wingless. Perhaps it wasn’t a random mutation but instead the natural progression of their evolution. By now we know there’s got to be some outside force pushing everything along, making sure the plots tie up neat and that the right people are chosen for the right thing. It’s hardly a stretch to say this force is influencing how fairies evolve.

In Thumbelina we learn that Barbie is aware of the Twillerbees, a race of wingless fairies with the ability to influence how plants grow. These seem the most unchanged from the fairies of Fairytopia. They even seem to have regressed a bit, their powers aren’t as strong and their society is far less complex. This is likely a result of them deliberately avoiding the human world. They know nothing about it so they have nothing to emulate.

Contrast that with the Flairies and the Fairy Illuminati, who not only are aware of humanity, but actively try to influence the course of its history. The Flairies do it in a minor way, they just want to influence fashion. The Fairy Illuminati on the other hand? They keep tabs on all major government leaders and celebrities. Perhaps they want to be on top again.

The Barbie Theory Part 1 Of 2: Timeline

Near Future

Magic is a privilege for the 1%

In Barbie’s era the world might have seemed like ours politically, but it was not. In this universe there were no political revolutions, at least none that succeeded. Monarchy remained the standard system of government, likely with the help of some ancient artifacts and winged friends. Now in the not so distant future (relative to our day) we see how society has been shaped by this crucial change.

There are many smaller kingdoms, rather than few large countries. Heirs and wealthy children are sent away to learn how to govern effectively but they remain mostly ignorant of their subjects’ concerns (Princess Charm School, Princess & the Popstar). It is an unjust system and the people know, but there’s nothing they can do about it.

We see in Rock'n Royals that the royal families have managed to replicate certain magical objects: every royal child has a magic scepter. We also see this Princess Charm School with the magic crown. It’s possible humans did this, (after all, ingenuity is probably our most important trait) but I think it’s more likely that these were gifts from the fairies. They now operate as a shadow government, giving royalty magic weapons and tools in exchange for political influence.

In all the magic societies we see here, people are prospering. The conflict never comes from inequality or suffering from the masses, it comes from people trying to usurp the throne. LIterally every time. So while there is conflict amongst the ruling class of the magic people, their masses don’t suffer. But they do in the human world.

The Barbie Theory Part 1 Of 2: Timeline

Postmodern

Eons later the universe tries make things right

There are only two titles here, and they couldn’t be more different: Magic of the Pegasus, and Starlight Adventure. I can see your confusion, “What is Pegasus doing here? It takes place sometime in… Well sometime around.. not the future!”. But it does take place in the future. There’s a reason no one can pinpoint the era it’s from.

Pegasus takes place in one of two timelines that diverged in between this era and the last. I like to think it came from an attempt to stop the ruling class from ever getting their hands on magic. The leaders of a class revolution stole some time-altering magical artifact from a royal family and used it to stop Odette and the Diamond Wives from succeeding. But time travel is messy, and they didn’t really do it right. Their version of Earth got cast into a sort of pocket dimension where time converged on itself and created a world with elements from many different points in history. That’s why nothing is consistent in the costuming and royalty doesn’t have magic. The magic people are still hidden, they just don’t have any windows to the human world.

But time travel really only works if you make a new timeline. That’s why Starlight exists. It’s the natural progression from where we left off. Eventually space travel gets big and people become mostly removed from magic. Human ingenuity reigns supreme again and technology booms. But the universe doesn’t last forever and heat death is imminent. So that force that’s been pushing everything along finally does what it intended to do from the beginning and wakes magic up again. It’s goal is to stop the universe from dying, and it knows magic can do that. So it made sure some magic people made their way across the universe and were in position to make things right when the time came. So Barbie saves the universe, for another era at least.

So the chronological order of the films is:

Ah, Look At Me. Making A Backstory For A Villain.

Ah, look at me. Making a backstory for a villain.

If you’ve been following me for a while now, you know that I don’t like the thought of a villain being well….a villain, for no reason. So obviously, I made one.

I kind of made this backstory/headcanon/theory thing?

……..

Basically, in her past, everyone kept comparing her to another girl, who had the same name, but different pronunciations.

She was better than her with everything, not only that, but she was a bit of a bully.

And people constantly messed up their names with who is who.

So that’s why she doesn’t like people mispronouncing her name.

I know that this won’t become canon, not even close. Because from what I understand about this show so far, is that it doesn’t have an actual story, so we probably won’t get a story from this character? (That’s probably why I’m not a big fan of this show-)

Anyways, I’m done talking my nonsense-

Can’t decide how I feel about New Media being a overly sexualized Asian woman bc on one side, this could be social commentary on how Koreans are being fetishized bc of the easy access to attractive Kpop stars America has and casting a young, Korean actress and making her hella flirty is a conscience effort to highlight the racist mindset of what non Asians think of Asian women (fun fact, when I was thirteen a white boy sat on my lap and told me Asians make the best strippers before proceeding to slap my thighs), thus New Media’s image in contrast with Old Media’s classical feminine and one time daring Bowie look when she’s an older white woman. The difference between people seeing Meryl Streep and Ally Maki.

O r , this is how the scriptwriters really see Asian women as sexual commodities with soft voices and still outdated fashion choices. :///
