*NOTE this is just my thoughts on these songs, and everyone sees them differently, so if you don't agree with them, i totally understand
Also, i am a very bad writer, so if this is badly structured, please don't say anything about it*
This song is about the struggle of dealing with the death of a loved one. In the song he talks about how he feels like he can't go to the cemetery and pay his respects at his loved ones funeral. He justified this decision to himself by coming up with various reasons to not go like he doesnt wanna see flowers growing on the grave, he already said goodbye, he shouldn't have to do it in public and why should he go there and be sad in front of strangers. He is just trying to forget that the person died and the funeral is facing the facts and that's the real reason he doesn't want to go.
This song is about a day of bandcamp in the summer. As he is just saying the daily events of band camp and what position they happen. I'm not sure what to interpret this as but in my brain this is a fun description of the day from the perspective of a kid in band camp who is bored and decided to make a silly song about it.
FUNFACT: In a Livestream will said he used to play the trombone in high school marching band.
If you liked this i will be releasing more and linking them too each other at some point sown here.

Here’s a dumb poem I made :’))
A Minute
As we stroll through meadows of joy, your smile is bright,
We dance and sing, shaded, covered by a rainbow,
But the clock’s time is ticking in this long-term lie,
Yet we clung to it, to avoid the curse bestowed
Now we are in quite polished rooms of rotten wood,
The lie has dried out and the truth wetly remains,
I would scream, I would speak, if I just simply could,
And I sense your fear…and so calmness I shall feign
We had such fun in this illusion called freedom,
Where we ignored the majority’s punishment,
Where we were ready to not come to a kingdom,
For we were sick of this world’s lies and its treatment!
Now we stroll through the smooth streets built by the cruel,
We walk proudly, heads held high, covered by their jeers,
I dumbly plead with them to give time to us fools,
They did give us time, but just a minute, I hear
So uhhh, this is random cringe I guess and it’s up to your own interpretation

That awkward moment when you’re in an artistic hiatus but at the same time feeling inspired to draw SW fan art; happy and/or angsty (or both at the same time) Star Wars AUs, etc. But also struggle with anxiety. Welp. 🍵
"CONNECTING DOTS" They say that you can get a bigger picture. They say that 'the bigger picture' is useful. For understanding stuff, like life. Just by connecting dots?!? Sounds too good to be true… But let's give it a try. Life'n stuff certainly could use a bigger picture; might make more sense then. If that's the idea. Making sense. But then those dots starts acting up. As if they were something more than parts of a bigger picture. Or messing with, quite out of order, the idea itself. Green dots moving around, pulling themselves together, then exploding and spreading all over. It looks random. If there was a bigger picture, it would show those dots as what they really are: Big pictures. Each and every one. Alive and enjoying life. But we demand the impossible. The portrait of our complete life. By dots. It's not only impossible. It's just one single dot. Or the one beside the other. They couldn't care less. Why should they? Why should you? Be a dot. Then maybe… Or not. Life'n stuff. Moving, always, blurs any picture. If there ever was… Stuff like life. #mantelmomento #danielmantel #udenfilter #laurieandthestoryof (Some way off, but still...) #dots #thebiggerpicture #life #stuff #greendots #movingpictures #connectingthedots #interpretation #lifeandstuff #thisusefulbiggerpictureisofcoursealiebutquitespreadaroundinmanymindsincludingsometimesminebutjustforawhileluckily (Usual one-off hashtag...) I love reading all the stories here; I’ve been up and down the notes and I have several versions saved to my drafts, one of which I’ve begun writing out my own Fae story on. However, this post has actually had an influence on how I interpret the play I’m currently in, so it seems only appropriate to reblog a version of it on the eve of our play opening as well.
The play is called Almost, Maine, and it’s a subtly surrealist series of small town romances. The blurb on the back of the script describes it as “a midwinter night’s dream”. Basically, weird, seemingly mystical things are happening in the lives of people in this town as they fall in and out of love, and at the end of the night, everyone sees the northern lights. You could read it just abstractly as ‘the northern lights make weird (or should I say wyrd) things happen’, or you could even rationalize most of the things away, but I’ve decided that it makes sense that Almost (that’s the name of the town) just has a very heavy Fae presence and the Fae--likely excited by the northern lights--are meddling in everyone’s affairs--much like in Midsummer Night’s Dream.
I even decided that one of the characters I play, Ginette, actually is a Fae who left the Fae realm because she’s in love with a human, Pete. That explains, for me, how she *SPOILERS* walks all the way around the Earth in about 10 minutes for him--it’s done with the Fae magic she has, but in my interpretation, she has literally travelled all that distance for him. Then, when the northern lights appear at the end, it’s even deeper for me, because I’ve decided that for Ginette that’s a sign that the Fae have finally approved of her romance with Pete.
Pete would be incredibly overwhelmed by all this. He freaks out when she says “I love you” for the first time. It’s best he doesn’t know all this.
Anyways, I know this is a digression from the main subject matter of this post, but I just wanted to share how considering the Fae has been useful to me in deepening my acting and my character backstories. Thanks for all the great stories!
Irish people; The faeries aren’t real
Irish people; No fucking way will I go in that faerie ring
I have to admit that it's so frustrating to me that people are doing this "He's canon ace but not canon aro" thing. It feels like people wanting to have it both ways at the cost aro people. If you're going to say only what's explicit in the text matters, then be honest with proper embrace of Death of the Author and disregard what Brennan said outside the context of the text. If you want to invest meaning in authorial intent, than be honest about the authorial intent with Riz. It's hard enough being aro in fandom as it is without people playing both sides of the fence on this
I'm sorry that there is a lack of aromantic representation, but you can't decide what the authorial intent was for the author. He could be aro! There's a lot of subtext and ways to read the story like that, but it's just as easy to read it as him being demiromantic or gray romantic or even just a late bloomer. Because of this, I can't confirm the authors intent unless he states it. I don't personally have an opinion on it, I just like Riz, and I'll like his character no matter what his sexuality is. I'm not going to disregard a statement from a cast member, especially when I doubt Brennan would have said without Murph's permission. That, to me at least, is confirmation of authorial intent.
I can understand why you're frustrated, but there aren't (or at least shouldn't be) sides. I'm simply saying that Riz is not canonically Aromantic, which is true. However, this does not mean that Aromantic people are somehow wrong in saying that they believe he is! Just like many other things, it is up for the viewer to decide currently.
If Murph comes out and says Riz is Aromantic, that's it. He's Aromantic. But until then, it's up for interpretation. You aren't wrong for saying he's Aromantic, but neither is someone saying he's not Aromantic.
I am so glad that Riz resonates with you, but others don't have your same experience and might relate to him in different ways, and their experience and interpretations aren't less valid than yours.
The world isn't black and white. There are so many nuisances that can be beautiful if you allow yourself to see them.
I'm not on the fence. I know exactly where I stand. Riz is canonically asexual and he has no confirmed romantic interests, although he has been shown to be less interested than his peers. This could mean many, many different things, but saying that thinking Riz is asexual but not aromantic is being on the fence is discounting real people who are asexual and not aromantic.
It's not all or nothing. I'm not out to get you or hurt anyone. It just frustrates me when people state their interpretations of media as facts and get upset when other people have different interpretations. Your interpretation isn't more valid just because it's more diverse. That would be like me reading a book where someone was never stated to have a race, but I decided that their character would make more sense if they were black, so now they're canonically black, even though I don't know what the author imagined them like. Just because it's adding diversity doesn't make it more morally correct. It doesn't make it more incorrect either. It just makes it your interpretation.
I know you're probably sick of hearing this, but it's up for interpretation, and you can't fault people for having a different interpretation of a character.
