Ok so I just got back from watching Across the Spiderverse, and unlike most sequels/Marvel movies, it was absolutely, awesomely good. The animation just blew me away, and the team managed to blend the different styles of each dimension smoothly. I really enjoyed that the different styles defined each character, especially with Hobie, where he visually clashed with the environment. I feel very similarly about the soundtrack and Miguel's theme slaps.
The story kept the same feel of the first, which it what I really appreciate, and like the first, it had a pretty long rising action. Practically every scene had me on the edge of my seat, and the easter eggs were really cool. I think 95 percent of my time was spent looking in the background to see people. SPOILERS AHEAD!! My favorite cameos are probably live action Donald Glover (which looked surprisingly not greenscreened in) and Wild West Spiderman/horse. I LOVE HOBIE AND PAVITR SO MUCH. The intro scene with Jessica and Gwen and Miguel was also super cool, and I get the idea that MAYBE the animators love their 0.5's.
