Looking more into the Hermits and the endings of them all, some of my favorites has to be Tango’s and Bdubs endings. There’s a lot of potential angst if you’ve watched both episodes. ( I highly recommend watching both. ) In Tango’s EP, he’s travelled to the moon and received a transmission. In that video transmission is a cut up, glitchy video of Bdubs updating Tango on how the moon is currently affecting( slowly messing with the gravity and y’know- ripping it apart ) Hermitcraft. During Bdubs ending, he’s completely blissful. Flying around Hermitcraft and laughing, living in a bliss, simply looking away from the moon above to instead enjoy life around Hermitcraft. In Tango’s final EP, we see a much different Bdubs. Bdubs somehow got a method to send a transmission to Tango, this implies he was aware that Tango was on the moon. ( He says Tango’s name at the start of the transmission. ) This implies that Bdubs knew something about Tango’s mission, to what extent he was aware, I am not sure, but he knew that, at the least, Tango was heading to the moon to do something there. This Bdubs in the transmission is also panicked, telling Tango not to return to Hermitcraft because everything was being destroyed. In the timeline of events, I believe the Bdubs transmission happened first, then that leads into Bdubs final episode. Now, into my headcannon, au thingy. Bdubs knew about Tango’s mission and his intent to blow up the moon. Bdubs, discovering this, put trust into Tango to complete his mission and save all of Hermitcraft, which is why he doesn’t prepare a way to escape. ( Or Tango reached out to Bdubs and asked him to be his eyes on the ground to know if he succeeded. ) Bdubs completely puts his trust in Tango to blow up the moon and save them all. By the time the moon is nearing and nothing has happened, Bdubs is slowly losing hope and has nothing prepared, and sends him that transmission in panic. But nothing comes from it and Hermitcraft is still being destroyed. so he distracts himself with other things, makes fun out of it, lives in a bliss in order to cope with his impending doom. His only hope is Tango doing something to stop the moon.
And at the end of the night, Tango failed at his mission to save hermitcraft and failed Bdubs.
