I am among those who think that science has great beauty. A scientist in his laboratory is not only a technician, he is also a child placed before natural phenomenon, which impress him like a fairy tale.

although i myself lack the attention required for mathematic philosophy i do respect the field and its practitioners so entirely - in my experience the people who are philosophers and mathematicians both always have such a beautiful perspective on existence and the universe

I'm dead. I used my last brain cells in math class today learning the difference between the sum of cubes and squares.

If I take a while to post, know that it's because of math. I hate math 😭

Well Universe Has Its Own Ways Of Expressing Love, At Times By Painting A Heart Shaped Nebula On The

Well universe has its own ways of expressing love, at times by painting a Heart Shaped Nebula on the canvas of Cosmos and at times galaxies in the shape of Rose. This image of two interacting galaxies, called Arp 273, has been released by the organization that operates the Hubble Space Telescope in celebration of the 21st anniversary of its launch into space. Gravitational forces have pulled the objects into the shape of a rose on a stem as seen from Earth's vantage point. . . #physicist #physicsisfun #quantumphysics #theoreticalphysics #scientist #physicsfun #universe #astronomy #astrophysics #quantummechanics #chemistry #physicslover #physicst_voice #cosmology #engineering #theoreticalphysics #sciencememes #einstein #space #mathematics #stephenhawking #physicsmajor #physicslovers #particlephysics #photography #instaphotography https://www.instagram.com/p/CCiUpTsnzZS/?igshid=cs539gukkr80

a (very rare) math/science post.

A (very Rare) Math/science Post.

hey! so i'm a british student but you'll see me putting things in brackets to help clarify things for my non british readers. so i did my GCSEs (i think the american equivalent is SATs?) back in may and june and one thing about me during my last year of school is i was in some deep shit. so i didn't really do that well. I got a bunch of 6s (B+s) and7 (A) in eng lit. i found i was couple marks off of a grade 7 (A ) in almost all my subjects including math and science. now i can deal with a B in art and a B in sociology because I'm doing them for A levels ( google tells me the americn equivalent is AP examinations) so doing well in them means that my gcse grade will be dismissed since i did better at A level today i asked my math teacher if there was any way i could resit and he cut me the following deal: if i resat my exams in either november or june of next year and got a better grade then he'd cover the fees and same goes for science. now, i just started sixth form/college so i'd have to learn in my own time somehow. i don't have anyone to teach me and i can't afford tutoring but i was offered to sit in the back of lessons during my free period every tuesday and that afterschool i can ask whatever available teacher for help for anything i really really can't teach myself should i go for it? please interact and tell me what you think.

05/10/18 - 23 days of productivity

Hi all! Today has been a busy one - I only had one free period today and I was blessed with Doppeldeutsch :D

Chemistry involved revising the very start of AS, which was boring since it encases the very basics that have been drilled into you and used so much since the start of GCSEs that you will never ever forget them. Ever. However, I did get to work with people I don’t normally work with, which was fun.

Biology came second, where we started the topic of neuronal communication (I made the notes last month hehe).

Then I had 2 hours of German, where we did some reading, listening and talked about our individual research projects. I’ve decided on women in the GDR vs the BRD.

And then I got to practise a Cambridge admissions test for the maths practice.

When I got home, I made three quizlet sets ready for next week, finished my German and French homework and then did an end of topic test in maths for proof (which you see pictured).

I’m going to curl up with a book now, and yet another cup of tea!

How have you spent your Friday?

The Cambridge bottle reminds me of my ultimate goal at this point in my life. Let’s go get it!

What Is STEM, Exactly? If You Have Followed Groovy Lab In A Box For A While, You May Have Noticed That

What is STEM, exactly? If you have followed Groovy Lab in a Box for a while, you may have noticed that we reference “STEM” a lot. However, you may be wondering: “What is STEM, exactly?” Let’s take a look at what STEM is and why it is so important to the United States. STEM is an acronym for “#Science, #Technology, #Engineering and #Mathematics.” It’s an acronym to describe a type of curriculum in school – from kindergarten through college. The idea behind STEM is to make the United States more competitive in technology development by bringing up generations of students who can excel in high-tech jobs (we call this generation, #STEMists.) Right now, only 16% of children graduating from American high schools are proficient in math and interested in a STEM career. However, jobs such as systems software developers, medical scientists and biomedical engineers will have the most career opportunities by 2020. Emphasizing STEM is critical in our schools, and it has not gone unnoticed by our federal government. In May 2013, the National Science and Technology Council issued a five-year strategic plan to respond to the lack of STEM education in our country’s schools. Other organizations, such as the STEM Education Coalition, are working hard to tell policymakers about STEM and how preparing our students is critical to the future of the U.S. We are doing our part, too. Each month, our subscription service focuses on delivering STEM education to your doorstep and computer. At Groovy Lab in a Box, we believe that children are natural STEMists with an innate sense of curiosity and inquiry that can flourish under the right conditions. We also believe that learning can be fun. We created Groovy Lab in a Box to encourage children to channel their natural STEMists. Whether they are building rockets or creating an electrical circuit, children are enjoying the learning process, and applying analytical skills that will transfer to the classroom, and later, their careers. Want to bring STEM learning right to your door step? Check out our monthly subscription programs! Your #STEMist will love our monthly themed STEM investigations & engineering design challenge. #homeschool #NGSS

I love solving mathematical problems. They calm me and cheer me up. They are like meditation to me.

I’m missing them a lot this week. I'm currently writting a paper and is quite urgent, so I don't have time for them. It isn't that I hate writting, I actually quite enjoy it. But it's been a terrible week and I miss my maths.

Heres the thing you gotta understand about statistics.

“Increases your chances by 80%” does not mean “there is now an 80% chance”.

If your chances were previously 10%, your chances are now 18%, not 90%.

if your chances were roughly 1%, they’re now just slightly less than 2%.

thats how that works.

It’s sad how much of what is taught in school is useless to over 99% of the population.

There are literally math concepts taught in high school and middle school that are only used in extremely specialized fields or that are even so outdated they aren’t used anymore!
