Wow, Mars!? I know that’s kind of bad but it’s also kind of awesome. 

We live a mile south of the MN/IA border (we live in Iowa but the nearest town is in Minnesota, just 6 miles north), and this is not my first -20F day. It’s a funny thing, stepping outside when it’s this cold; I find it feels as though it’s wet, not because of any moisture, but just because it’s so cold that my body reads it as wet from the drastic temperature drop. 

But, back to that exciting part about Mars. 

I’ve often compared putting on all the pieces of my winter gear to putting on a space suit, and I’m not going to lie, I sometimes go full mental role play when it’s this cold and I’m going out to feed animals in the barn. Like, I start mentally referring to the house as the exploratory base and my car as the rover and I’ll say I’m going out on a solo surface mission and whatnot; if my scarf slips off my face, I have a helmet breach, and so on. (I could probably pick more accurate scientific space terms, especially after reading the Martian, but it’s usually just in my head so I don’t typically pay too much attention to accuracy). Apparently, I never realized how semi-accurate I was actually being! 

So wait, wait though. Are you actually telling me that the winter gear currently in my possession--knee-length down coat rated to ~ -20F, wool scarf, felt-lined wool mittens, wool hat, snow boots, snow pants, etc... Is what you’re saying that with the clothing I currently own, I could potentially walk around on the surface of Mars without actually needing a space suit?? I mean, I guess there are also other factors, like oxygen and pressure and things, but I’m suddenly feeling like a patched together homemade spacesuit made from the winter gear I already have and like maybe a scuba diving tank or something is way more viable than I had previously considered. It’s a good thing I don’t have any way of quickly transporting myself to Mars right now or the high level of childish space energy currently flooding me might make me foolish enough to try it. 

Also I just had this moment where I thought, “it’s like I’m in space!” and then remembered that the earth actually is a planet that is in space, so, technically... I am in space. So, in conclusion, stay warm, my fellow space travellers, and may your space suits/winter gear serve you well :)

It’s 19-20 F (-7 C) whole-ass degrees at the Larsen Ice Shelf in Antartica.  

Google says it’s -7 F (-22 C) in St. Paul, MN.

Congratulate it’s nearly 30 degrees warmer in antartica rn, stay toasty and be real smug about living through this.

The building in front is 15 appartements building and like us they cannot smoke inside their appartement so looks like one of the tenants decided not to freeze when he go out smoking this winter (it’s cold in winter in Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦)

Siempre me ha gustado imaginar que los días de después son como en esta ilustración, todo de gente con sus libros nuevos, regalados o prestados leyendo en cada rincón posible, entrando y saliendo de esos mundos invisibles contenidos en unas cuantas paginas de papel. Esta ilustración ya tiene unos cuantos años pero aún no había visto la luz. Forma parte de ese tipo de trabajos que haces y parece que no van a acabar nunca. En este caso, entre covid y las peripecias de la vida, quedó en el aire, con un futuro incierto… Quizás algún día acabe publicada en el formato para el que estuvo pensada, pero, mientras tanto, podéis disfrutar de este trocito y imaginaros de que trata cada uno de los libros que están leyendo los personajes! Espero que disfrutéis estos días de pascua y, por que no, que leáis muchos libros mientras os tomáis un ratito de relax. ☀️ EN|| There’re only a few days left for Sant Jordi, the festival of the book and the rose, those days when the streets of Barcelona are filled with stories, pages and life. I’ve always liked to imagine the days after this festival like in this illustration, with all the people with their new books, reading in every possible corner, entering and leaving those invisible worlds contained in a few pages of paper. This illustration is already a few years old but it hadn't seen the light of day yet. It’s part of that type of work you do and it seems that it’ll never end. In this case, between covid and the vicissitudes of life, it was left up in the air, with an uncertain future... Perhaps one day it’ll end up published in the format for which it was intended, but in the meantime, you can enjoy this close up and imagine what kind of books every character is reading! I hope you enjoy these Easter days and, why not, you read many books while you take a little while to relax.☀️

Analytical philosophy, or some recognizable descendant of it, should be able to make a richer contribution to ethics than has often been the case up to now. Now time for another of my Cars 2 headcannons!

Meet Oscar Grey and Cooper Healey!

Just to be clear, I didn’t fully create these characters! They are actually the car characters from some of the deleted scenes from Cars 2, that I happily made canon in the Cars Universe in my eyes.

I create Cooper with this car, from the darkest deleted scene.

I made Cooper Healey to be a pretty cocky, confident guy. Who actually became great friends with Leland, before Leland met Finn.

And, I made Oscar with this car from the Oktoberfest deleted scene.

I imagine Oscar to be a new agent at CHROME, with him having some bit of anxiety and insecurities about him being a spy than everyone else.

And, I also imagine these two to become best friends as well! Having Cooper starting to teach Oscar about being a spy, but also teaching Oscar about how to be more confident with yourself and fighting doubt.

Which flatters Oscar so much, that they start to grow a connect with one either, and start becoming the greatest friends.

Here’s also drawings of them as cars ;)

I like these two in the Cars 2 universe, and hope to do more with them someday!

Natasha from “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812.”

Here’s some different:

For the past couple of days now, I’ve been listening to a musical called “Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812” for a while. I’ve been loving it so far, and totally recommend it!

And I was listening to the soundtrack, and daydreaming these characters on how they portrayed in my head. Mostly on how they looked.

So I decided to draw all the characters on what they looked like in my head, even tho I already know what they are actually supposed to look like. But, whatever 😅

I actually like how this drawing went out. Not too proud with the colors because of my low color of copic markers. But besides that, I think it turned out well 😉

Can’t promise if I will be making more. I guess we will see...

what an advice!

To children, the world and everything in it is new, something that gives rise to astonishment. It is not like that for adults. Most adults accept the world as a matter of course.
