Anyone else see the similarities of Jon now and the creature that was found in the library in the desert?

I’m going to make a Magnus archives OC, what entity should they serve?

I have finally decided to make an official Magnus Protocol OC. His name is Mr. Maw Wooley. (Though Alice calls him Daddy Teeth.) Despite his appearance, he’s surprisingly cooperative and polite. He communicates through sign language though is frustrated if no one can understand him.

****ARTISTRY IN MAGNUS PROTOCOL****

Theory/Discussion

Ive somewhat noticed something. It could be absolutely nothing or unintentional but I wanted to point it out. Art in its different forms seems to be pretty common throughout Magnus protocol.

Of course, the obvious Ink5oul and her tattoos. There’s a few of them scattered in different episodes. She often refers to people as Canvases including one of the victims just being an artist. Gerry is also brought up again and gives Cilia one of his paintings. Music from the violin episode is also pretty blatantly about art.

Some of the less obvious is the art of gardening (episode where a man becomes overtaken by plants in a gorgeous garden), architecture (episode where a man is trapped within a specific style of architecture), gambling (episode based on rolling dice and playing the odds), comedy (episodes that include Bonzo), and cooking (episode where a chef is hired to cook “the kill”).

Of course, there are a couple episodes that don’t fit perfectly into this but I felt the need to point it out. So much of it surrounds artistry and creativity of humans.

What statements should I add?

OK! So this weeks episode was crazy! First of all we all already know that the computers are communicating with the OIAR staff but this episode basically confirms it and add to the fact that Alice is aware of it and is deliberately trying to make sure that Sam doesn’t hear any of the Magnus institute related statements is really suspicious, like what are you trying to hide Alice? But also did anyone notice that what they were describing in this episode sounds similar to what happened during the eye-pocalypse in the Magnus Archives. There are so many things in this episodes statement that relate to season five of TMA it’s crazy! Like the dome reminds me of the panopticon and how it’s going to be their base of operation for the experiment. And how the “balance of energies involved will be profoundly skewed towards the fearful and despairing” like what! It’s the eye- pocalypse all over again.

And the fact that [ERROR] saved Gwen from Ink5oul? Who is this person??

Also the tape recorders can bite people!? They are now sentient creatures?! This episode was wack!

I said screw it and started the newest episode bc I didn’t want to be left out. However I have not listened to the pervious six episodes so let’s see how this goes

Re-listening to the entirety of TMA right now and I refuse to listen to any new TMAGP episodes until I’m done and it’s starting to kill me. What do you mean Melanie and Georgie are back in the same episode?? What do you mean they mention Jon?? Are they back in the original TMA world? Is Melanie in TMAGPs world? Currently on episode 147 and I’m binge-listening my best to try to finish before they release this weeks episode cause I don’t know if I can keep this up 😭

Being a fan of both night vale and tma/tmagp right now is so funny because you listen to one gay eye podcast and it's like here's an utterly beautiful exploration of familial relationships, forgiveness, and the inability to fully understand and heal from familial trauma and then you listen to the other gay eye podcast and it's like here's a fucked up Mr blobby who goes to strip clubs and rips people apart and then eats them. Truly fascinating to witness.

In my head Lady Mowbray is Pru from the Great British Baking Show. Because of the posh, and the cooking, and the belief that she would eat human flesh if it were well presented enough.

TMAGP 17 SPOILERS

Celia gives me Moon Knight vibes. Maybe she's sharing a body with her AU self? She seems committed to Jack and genuinely interested in pursuing Sam, so I'm not sure which is which. Might be possible that Celia is genuinely her name and that's why TAFK Lynne picked it, subconsciously.

Which raises the question of who's sleepwalking during the day, and who's working at the OIAR during the night. I feel like Celia's comments on a "crazy couple of years" and her son could go either way- as in, sometimes TMA Celia was making choices, and sometimes it was TMAGP Celia.

Also, is her last name a reference to the Talented Mr Ripley? I'm leaning towards "living her alternate self's life."

The name and address in the envelope will become clear as the cases come in.

We got a lot of name drops, but I don't know who Jack, Oscar Jarret, or Sutherland MacDonald are. Except that I'm going to constantly get the last one confused with Donald Sutherland.

Ohhhhh good take. I have this sinking feeling that Alice is the meta canary overall, and when she stops fucking around the plot will go full dark mode. Or she'll go batshit for real.

I'm a bit late but I love how Alice was Sam's canary in the latest episode. She acted as a constant reminder of the danger present and reigned him in when things were getting too dangerous. But she also didn't fully squash his hopes.

I wonder if/when she's gonna completely stop singing. (Or Sam stops listening)

In s5 of TMA Jon mentioned kids have more basic fears, like the Dark. What if they were building a whole other fear? Or trying to unite them into one power, alchemy style?

I have a bad feeling Freddy is using the voices of Jon, Martin, and whoever else to goad Sam into returning to the Magnus Institute. And that Jon & Martin are, in fact, completely dead.

- Chester serves up a Magnus Institute record to Sam just as he's about to give up...

- Celia hasn't seen the same amount of paperwork at all.

- Gwen's new job (and attitude) bore me. Presumably it will get interesting, but she's just got her first assignment.
