Same. It’s interesting to see how she’s progressed and become more of her own person. Her being able to laugh and snapping back at Drax “I wasn’t done talking!” makes it so nice to see.
I feel like we aren't talking about Mantis enough.
The fact that she is Ego's daughter makes it all the more fucked up when you realise she used to call him "master" Ego, literally only let Mantis live, just to make her his slave.
When we see her in Vol 2, she's always nervous and anxious, let's people degrade her because that's probably all she ever know, again calling back to how she refers to herself as a "flea with a purpose"
She's a victim of abuse.
I seen a lot of people say that she's just as bad as Ego, because she was complacent in his scheme — but let me tell you as someone who as has been in an abusive relationship before... IT IS NOT THAT EASY!
It is very difficult to break out of an abusive situation, the abuser has a way to break you down to your very core. The fact that Mantis was finally able to find the courage to break out of that is admirable enough.
Mantis in Vol 2 and Mantis in the holiday special are two competely different people, she's confident, ready to take charge of the situation and in an better headspace altogether. She's thriving under Guardians and finally living up her potential, because she's surrounded by people who love her.

L1527 IRS - Protostar
Stars form when bodies of dust and gas create enough mass to create a gravitational effect that's able to then pull in more gas, the process continues and the mass increases until the pressure at the centre is sufficient for fusion to begin.
There's many examples of protostars, in fact back in 2012, NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope focused in on L1527 IRS, believed at the time to be the youngest forming star ever found.
Recently, the JWST re-visited this protostar, and the title image was the result.
The forming star cannot be visually spotted, but is thought to be around 20-40% the mass of our own Sun already.
If you look closely, you can see there's a dark patch in the centre, this is actually the accretion disk around the newly formed star, what is left over after the formation, may go on to form the planets, in fact, they may be actually starting to be created already, as recent evidence does point to planets being born around the same time as the star does in many cases.
The protostar is only 450 light years from Earth in the Constellation of Taurus, and is thought to be around 100,000 years old, a blink of an eye in the life of a star, particularly of this mass.
We found each other in the cosmos, and that was wonderful.

This image shows a smoothed reconstruction of the total (mostly dark) matter distribution in the COSMOS field, created from data taken by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and ground-based telescopes. It was inferred from the weak gravitational lensing distortions that are imprinted onto the shapes of background galaxies. The colour coding indicates the distance of the foreground mass concentrations as gathered from the weak lensing effect. Structures shown in white, cyan, and green are typically closer to us than those indicated in orange and red. To improve the resolution of the map, data from galaxies both with and without redshift information were used.
The new study presents the most comprehensive analysis of data from the COSMOS survey. The researchers have, for the first time ever, used Hubble and the natural "weak lenses" in space to characterise the accelerated expansion of the Universe.

No, although it was during a blue moon that this single-shot image was taken. During a full moon that happened to be the second of the month -- the situation that defines a blue moon -- the photographer created the juxtaposition in late January by quickly moving around to find just the right spot to get the background Moon superposed behind the arc of a foreground tree. Unfortunately, in this case, there seemed no other way than getting bogged down in mud and resting the camera on a barbed-wire fence. A new type of dune, called “wind-drag ripples,” found last year by the Curiosity rover in Gale Crater. The dune is a part of the Bagnold Dune Field, on the the northwestern flank of Mount Sharp. The images were taken in early morning, with the camera looking in the direction of the sun. This mosaic combining the images has been processed to brighten it and make the ripples more visible. The sand is very dark, both from the morning shadows and from the intrinsic darkness of the basaltic minerals that dominate its composition. The base of Mount Sharp can be seen beyond the dunes.
