The Feast of Tabernacles, often known as Sukkot,is an annual Jewish vacation that commemorates the40 years that the Israelites spent wandering in thewilderness after their exodus from Egypt.
The vacation is well known within the fall, starting on the fifteenth day of the Hebrew month of Tishrei and lasting for seven days. Throughout Sukkot, Jews construct short-term shelters referred to as sukkahs and eat meals inside them. This can be a reminder of the short-term shelters that the Israelites lived in throughout their time within the wilderness.
