Dussehra, also referred to as Vijayadashami, is a major Hindu pageant that celebrates the victory of fine over evil. In 2025, Dussehra shall be noticed on October 8.
Dussehra commemorates the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. In line with the epic Ramayana, Ravana kidnapped Lord Rama’s spouse, Sita, and took her to his kingdom in Lanka. Lord Rama pursued Ravana to Lanka and engaged in a fierce battle that lasted for ten days. On the tenth day, Lord Rama lastly defeated Ravana and rescued Sita.
