i don’t know why but this has deeply annoyed me since I watched the Renfield movie
The movie itself is good, I thought it was entertaining, but it irritated me slightly on how Renfield was (visually) portrayed in it.

The main things were honestly height and hair color.
Dwight frye was good because he had a physically unthreatening presence, being lean and shorter than the average man at 5’7”
Nicholas Hoult’s is also rather physically untreatening, also being lanky, but he’s 6’3” (taller than both Cage!Dracula at 6’ and Lugosi!Dracula at 6’1), which takes away part of the effect.
I don’t know why, but the hair and eye color also annoyed me.
Dwight frye was said to have had light brown hair and blue eyes.
Nicholas hoult has dark brown, almost black, hair and dark brown eyes.
