Csar Chvez Day 2025 commemorates the life and legacy of labor chief and civil rights activist Csar Chvez, who fought for the rights of farmworkers in the US. The day is widely known yearly on March 31, the anniversary of Chvez’s start.
Chvez was born in Yuma, Arizona, in 1927. He started working within the fields as a baby, and he rapidly turned conscious of the cruel circumstances and low wages that farmworkers confronted. In 1962, he co-founded the Nationwide Farm Employees Affiliation (NFWA), which later turned the United Farm Employees (UFW). The UFW led various profitable strikes and boycotts, which resulted in improved wages and dealing circumstances for farmworkers.
