Remember when Andrew hit Neil with a racquet, literally like in the first chapter…like they probably had a moment right right !? But like listen in the Second chapter Andrew goes “ it’s a cruel world right Neil”? And Neil goes “it’s not the world that’s cruel ,it’s the people in it “ .. like …LIKE WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN ANDREW’s DRUGGED MIND WHEN HE HEARD THAT?!? Was he thinking something like “oh great we got another one with issues and secrets” (I mean duh obviously) or was he like “imma break you and reshape your scars so they heal properly…..aUghsidhdghusbj DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY?!?!

Hear me out- If Kevin wasn’t good at exy he wouldn’t have survived. His love for it is partly a survival tactic. Him teaching other people and making them better- in his eyes- is protecting them. He is teaching them how to “survive.”

There was something else I was gonna add to this but I forgot as I was typing… oops.

I think Kevin’s love language is chronically misunderstood. Him wanting to train others and making them the best at the sport that means the world to him is like a love confession. Like people. Can’t you see how he’s letting you into his precious and broken little exy heart. Exy is what kept him alive during the Nest. He’s just trying to give others that same comfort and joy.

It’s the equivalent to a child coming up to you telling you all about their favorite topic. They feel joy about it so they want to share that with you. You may not be interested or find the same joy that they do but it’s an effort to include people in their happiness. And Kevin is trying to do just that

i’m rereading aftg rn. like. just started. still on chapter one. anyway. i forgot that the court was the same size and a soccer field… like?? hello. i pictured them playing on like a basketball court. wtf. omg i can’t believe that.

Im looking for a specific fic, I always remember very specific scenes and dialogue from fics I’ve read but never the fic itself 😭. I can’t remember if it was on ao3 or tumblr

It had the minyard v. Josten rivalry and was post-canon and during pros, and I think at the end it after Kevin and Neil had been fighting for the ball during a game, Kevin’s team had 8-5? I think on Neil and Andrew’s team, then when Andrew gets out on the court, Neil asks Andrew to shut down the goal and Andrew’s like what do I get out of doing it? And Neil says it’ll make Kevin sad. And since he only sees Kevin a few times a year now bc they’re in pros, he ends up shutting it down and Neil and Andrew’s team get 4 more points I think and then Kevin’s team gets Kevin another shot at the goal but Andrew blocks it and their team wins. Then at the end of the game Neil asks Andrew if he wants to piss of Kevin more and he’s like how and Neil asks yes or no and Neil calls Kevin’s name to make him turn their way and they kiss on live tv , Kevin’s pissed and says “fuck you josten, fuck you minyard” before storming off.

Over time it becomes quite safe.

Warm, when Neil smoothes the knuckles of Andrew's brushes, distracting himself from watching another melodrama on movie nights. Touching the delicate skin is knocked on the heart, smoothing scratches and bruises before Minyard connects their palms into a lock, not breaking away to the very credits.

Cute, when they play with their paws, imperceptibly for others, alternately covering each other's socks under the table, relaxed listening to the conversations of the Foxes nearby.

Grateful, when Andrew lowers one palm from the steering wheel to the armrest, feeling Neil's nervous breath nearby, allowing him to gently draw patterns on his skin and asking to concentrate on caring touches and the living road ahead.

Confused, when they sit in the locker room, awkwardly touching their little fingers, hiding their palms behind the bench and losing the thread of the coach's monologue. The corners of the lips are led by a modest smile, and Neil fitters on the spot when Andrew slowly circles the line of his hands.

Relatives, when one demandingly touches the palm of the other's forehead, seriously measuring the temperature, noticing the red eyes and nose of his beloved. With excitement, stroking hot skin, putting it to bed under disgruntled grumbling.

In love, when Andrew, gently touching the tips of his pinkish ears, covers Neil's cheek, warmly lulling with his native gaze. The guy blinks in love, sticks his nose, pressing against his warm palm, and sighs very quietly, falling asleep with amber reflections in his memory.

Beloved, when they warm their hands frozen from the frost in a single breath, returning tactibility in each other's native touches.

Intimate, when Neil weaves his palms into Andrew's soft hair for careful kisses, sending impatient goosebumps on his skin. Seizing all disturbing thoughts with sensitive touches.

Over time it becomes too necessary.

andrew and aaron are so funny as a concept. no good twin evil twin they're both just evil

i need aftg as a mockumentary more than anything. imagine the confessionals after neil says or does anything. the amount times andrew would just look directly at the camera.

pray for aaron minyard he's not dead but finding out your seemingly feelingless stone cold hearted brother is dating the bitch you hate the most must be soo devastating like out of everyone?? you chose HIM?

nora saying that if aaron and katelyn have time off from work they'll probably go visit andrew and neil for christmas is my roman empire i think about it all the time

this kills me because it implies that andrew and neil had something to say too

deleting all the dating apps so i can find love the old fashioned way (i join a sports team made out of misfits with the purpose of giving them a second and third and fifth chance and the goalie and the striker are kind of intense but i end up promising the goalie to keep the striker here if he protects me from the literal mafia and i join their group that's referred to as the monsters by the rest of the team and the goalie gives me keys and truths and cigarettes and he says the thing between us is nothing and that he hates me but i know that the simple fact that he even bothers to express these things means something because he's usually so apathetic but sometimes he shows feelings to me and he trusts me and i trust him and the thing between us is not nothing even if he claims he wants to kill me most of the time)
