NURSE HEART ATTACK PT. 3 ⚡️
Alice was laying on the bed, her heart had just started to beat again. The monitor was showing a sinus rhythm while she was breathing through the ventilator. All of a sudden the alarm started and the monitor showed asystole again. The doctor immediately entered the room and started cpr. After a few cycles he removed the hospital gown and left Alice's chest completely naked. The resuscitation continued with cpr and lot of defibrillation until the nurse finally regained a sinus rhythm.
Elle walked into the cardiology clinic, the air conditioning a welcome relief from the blistering heat outside. It was the start of a heatwave, and she had dressed accordingly in a black strappy vest and her favorite jeans. Her skin glistened slightly, the humidity clinging to her despite the cool interior of the clinic. She skipped the bra, opting for comfort over convention, and now she felt the faintest breeze against her bare skin.
Doctor Patel greeted her with a warm smile as she entered his office. "Elle, good to see you," he said, motioning for her to sit down. "How have you been feeling?"
Elle settled into the chair, crossing her legs. "I've been alright, but I'm still worried. The palpitations come and go, and sometimes I feel like I might pass out."
Doctor Patel nodded, flipping through her chart. "Your previous continuous heart monitor didn't give us much to work with. It's baffling, really. You have an arrhythmia that can stop your heart, yet you seem to bounce back without any lasting damage. It's quite rare."
Elle chuckled. "I guess I have a unique heart."
Doctor Patel smiled at her joke. "You certainly do. Maybe we should use you for a research study. It's not often we see something like this."
Elle's eyes lit up at the thought. "I'd love that. Being part of a study sounds fascinating."
Doctor Patel took her blood pressure, carefully wrapping the cuff around her upper arm. The cuff squeezed tightly, a firm but familiar pressure. Elle watched the monitor as it beeped softly, displaying the numbers that seemed to dictate her health. She held her breath slightly, waiting for the reading. The cuff released with a gentle hiss, and Doctor Patel noted the numbers.
"120 over 80," he said, a reassuring smile on his face. "Perfectly normal."
Elle let out a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear."
Doctor Patel then picked up his black stethoscope and placed the cold diaphragm against her chest. Elle shivered slightly at the touch, but the sensation was oddly comforting.
"Take a deep breath," he instructed, moving the stethoscope to different points on her chest. He listened intently, his brow furrowed in concentration.
After a moment, he looked up. "Would you like to hear it?"
Elle's eyes widened. "Can I?"
Doctor Patel handed her the stethoscope, guiding her to place the earpieces in her ears. She pressed the diaphragm against her chest, right over her heart. The sound was mesmerizing—each beat strong and rhythmic, a constant reminder of her resilience.
"Wow," she whispered. "That's... incredible."
Doctor Patel smiled. "It's a powerful thing, your heart. Now, we're going to attach a new ECG monitor for you to wear for the week. Hopefully, this one will give us more information."
He carefully attached the electrodes to her chest, the cool gel making her skin tingle. With her vest, the electrodes were fully visible, tiny patches of technology against her tanned skin. Elle looked down at them, feeling a mix of comfort and excitement. Being monitored again made her feel special, like her heart was important enough to be watched over.
Before she left, she paused at the door. "Doctor Patel," she began, turning to face him. "I'd be happy to be used for medical students if it would be helpful. They’re very welcome to examine my heart and do any sort of experiments."
Doctor Patel looked thoughtful. "That's very generous of you, Elle. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you."
As Elle walked out of the clinic, she couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. Her heart, with all its mysteries and quirks, was once again under scrutiny. The idea of being part of something bigger, of contributing to medical knowledge, filled her with a sense of purpose. She looked forward to the week ahead, electrodes on full display, ready to embrace whatever came next.
After her appointment, Elle decided to treat herself to a coffee at the hospital café. It was a bustling spot frequented by both staff and visitors, providing her the perfect opportunity to people-watch. The café was bright and airy, with large windows offering views of the hospital grounds. Elle ordered her usual—a caramel latte—and found a seat near the window.
As she sipped her drink, she let her gaze wander. She loved observing the snippets of life happening around her, the stories unfolding in every corner of the room. To her left, a doctor in scrubs was having a quick meal, his pager placed beside his sandwich. At another table, a nurse was chatting with a colleague, their laughter punctuating the steady hum of conversation. Near the counter, a family anxiously waited for news about a loved one, their expressions a mix of hope and worry.
But what captivated Elle the most were the glances she received from the people around her. The electrodes peeking out from under her vest drew curious looks, and she found herself enjoying the attention. The idea that people were intrigued by her condition, that they might be wondering about the story behind the medical equipment, excited her. She shifted slightly in her seat, her pulse quickening at the thought.
She couldn't help but let her mind wander to the stethoscopes she had seen during her appointment. The sound of her own heartbeat still echoed in her ears, a rhythmic reminder of her unique heart. She wondered if any of the doctors or nurses at the hospital were part of the Tumblr community she had discovered. Were there people around her who shared her fascination with hearts and resuscitation?
Elle's eyes drifted to a man at a nearby table. He was in his early thirties, dressed in casual clothes but with an air of professionalism. He glanced at her briefly, his gaze lingering on the electrodes before quickly looking away. Was he just curious, or was there something more behind that look? The thought sent a shiver down her spine.
She started to fantasize about the possibility. What if there were people in the hospital who would be aroused by the opportunity to listen to her heart, to feel the rhythm of her pulse under their fingers? The idea thrilled her, the notion that her heart, with all its quirks and mysteries, could be a source of fascination and desire for someone else.
Her mind drifted back to Doctor Patel's office. She imagined one of the medical students, intrigued by her rare condition, asking to listen to her heart. She pictured the student's eyes lighting up with excitement as they placed the stethoscope against her chest, their breath hitching as they heard the steady beat. The thought made her pulse race, her heart pounding in her chest.
Elle took a deep breath, trying to calm the fluttering in her chest. She knew she was letting her imagination run wild, but the idea was too enticing to resist. She took another sip of her latte, savoring the sweet, creamy taste. She glanced around the café, wondering if anyone else shared her secret fantasies.
As she finished her coffee, she felt a sense of anticipation for what the week might bring. With her heart under constant monitoring, she knew that every beat was being recorded, every rhythm analyzed. It made her feel special, like her heart was the center of attention. And maybe, just maybe, there were others out there who felt the same way.
Elle stood up, gathering her things. She left the café with a smile on her face, her heart beating steadily in her chest. The week ahead was full of possibilities, and she was ready to embrace whatever came her way.
