Lily didn't even try to hide her laughter, even taking a moment to lean against him to keep her balance. Tiny affections!

"That explains why he doesn't mind raiding my fridge then." She snickered, shaking her head. "He's gotten so much practice getting into yours, he's well past the shame. Though, it's better he raids our fridges than tries to cook himself..." She hummed, absolutely remembering the time she rushed up to Xavier's apartment after hearing an explosion, thinking a Wanderer was attacking or something.

He lost oven privileges that day.

"Hundreds, sure." She echoed just as playfully, rolling her eyes as she stood up more properly. "That's more likely to be Tara, I wouldn't be able to keep up with so many people. I'm happy with having a few close friends who are willing to put up with me."

Almost immediately after 'impact', she couldn't help but break into giggles, shifting to at least attempt to look at his face. "Hi Jer~" she greeted with playfully exaggerated casualness.

Lily snorted at Jeremiah's jab at Xavier, ducking her head as a pathetic attempt at hiding the amusement, even though Xavier isn't even there to hear them. He would have probably responded to Jeremiah's verbal jab with a physical jab, if the one night in the green house when she first met Jeremiah was any indication.

"The point still stands, I don't want to go taking him away from you, since you two have been friends for longer than I've known either of you." She insisted, sticking her tongue out at him playfully as she put her hands on her hips dramatically.

While she isn't the most lonely person in the world, and was in fact very fortunate to have as many friends as she does... it's still comforting to know. Especially with how things have been going, as of late... The more support, the better.

"For what it may be worth, I'm happy to help you out if you need anything. I may not have as many talents as you or Xavier, but I can still try." She offered with a playfully sheepish smile.

"I'd be more than happy to join you two for an outing, so long as I won't be interrupting any plans or anything! I love the arcade, and it's always better with friends!"

His warning to not test the fire resistance inside earned an amused snort, turning her head for a moment as if trying to hide it, despite not actually trying to do so. "Noted." She commented, audibly amused. She can only imagine the shenanigans he must get up to, testing the limits of various materials.

Both he and Xavier seem to be men of many talents... far more than most people.

She distracted herself from that thought when he continued his rambles, humming to show she heard. "Thank you, Jeremiah." She beamed at him this time, adding on a playful "I'd probably make a lot of people jealous, having a personal tailor." She teased.

That was a tactful enough way of explaining that it was a rambunctious and entertaining group, if rather draining in large doses, right?

Jeremiah's casual dismissal of the importance of the charm didn't go unnoticed, but she left it at that for now. It seemed like something to ask Xavier about himself instead. So she watched curiously as he set to work tending the plants, since she's always eager to see a professional at work!

Though when he hesitated, forgetting that she knew about his 'hidden talents', Lily couldn't help but giggle again, nodding in understanding. "I might need to take you up on that. I've wanted to get into crafty things anyways for my... more low key days off. Something lower energy than working out."

"That outfit was very well done too, the quality was amazing!" Credit where credit is due! "I'd love to see more of what you're able to make, though."

Lily couldn’t help but snicker a little when Jeremiah commented on how easy her day was, nodding happily. “It probably means I'm going to have a rough or more tedious mission in the near future, but I'll deal with it when I get there.” She hummed casually, still examining the pin. “I really am fortunate to have as many friends as I do, and the fact they have such varied interests and backgrounds just makes it even better.” 

When he started to tease her and Xavier, she finally set the pin down to turn her attention back to her properly. “I may not know a whole lot about the stars, barely more than the average person, but I do love looking at the stars at night when I can. They're just so pretty…” 

There was a bit more to it, a feeling of something *more*, but that's hard to pinpoint and even harder to explain to someone. She'd rather that Jeremiah not think she's crazy when they're still getting to know each other. 

The barely-subtle suggestion that she make Xavier a new charm for his sword caught her off guard, even as her cheeks warmed up at the compliments. “It's something from highschool? It must be important to him, since it's in such good condition despite being on his sword…” she mused, tapping her cheek in absent thought. 

Jeremiah’s continued insistence made her giggle again though, shaking her head. “We’ll see. I might be able to find something, and if not I should be able to make something. I don't know if it would compete durability wise, though… I'd need to take a closer look at it…” 

At this point she's thinking out loud, her eyebrows slightly furrowed as she tried to plan out the entire project in her head, where she could look for a pre-made one, what materials would work, what styles, everything.

Just not 'I was literally just on top of you' close. "I was just a bit rough with it last time I used it, so I wanted to make sure that it was okay before I needed it again."

Better safe than sorry, and she doesn't want it to fail on her when she needs it, since she'd rather not do a bunch of running if she doesn't have to.

The mention of new merchandise caught her interest though, perking up slightly as she listened, following his lead. "Oh, they really are pretty!" She beamed, picking up one of the pins to examine it. "I think Xavier would like them, honestly. He really seems to like the stars, especially if the cute little charm on his sword is anything to go by." She mused absently. "Tara might like it too? It seems up her alley. I might need to buy a few from you." She semi-teased, despite fully planning to do so.

Jeremiah's musing about the kind of friends she has, or what people are into, earned another small giggle from her. "I have an... interesting variety of friends, honestly. Lots of different interests and personalities."

Once he set her down, she moved one hand up to cover her mouth with a loose fist to muffle the remaining giggles, finally settling down some herself. His 'attack' re-started the giggles, prompting her to smile at him innocently, moving her hand away from her mouth to instead rest under her chin playfully. Her? Being a chaotic little brat? Hardly~!

"Mmhm! I had to take my bike to the shop to get it checked over, so I got the rest of the day off to deal with that. Wanted to come say hi while I was in the neighborhood."

Those are so pretty! The pun may be obvious, but it never gets old. They always smell so nice too!

Lily kept her arms wrapped around his neck, ever careful not to risk hurting him in the process of course! She also made sure that he could maneuver her as necessary so he wouldn't be unnecessarily uncomfortable.

His exclamations made her giggles turn to proper laughter, pressing her head against his shoulder for a moment until she could compose herself enough to talk properly again. Or, mostly properly.

"I came from the void~," She teased through remaining giggles, "Sorry for scaring you though."

Lifting her head again to try and semi-face him, she did at least offer a more serious answer to his second question. "I've always been pretty quiet, but I honed it more when training to be a Hunter. Sometimes I have to actually make an effort to make noise to not scare people."

It's almost ironic that she's a naturally quiet person, considering her preferred weapons.

Honestly, Lily hadn't thought too hard on him knowing where her building was. Xavier had been over to visit plenty of times, and considering his apparent habit of bragging to Jeremiah about the plushies he wins her, it's not far fetched to figure that he's mentioned they live only a floor away.

So his quick clarification just makes her laugh at her phone, shaking her head affectionately as she types her reply.

Lily took to quietly humming when he stayed quiet, wanting to fill the silence in hopes he wouldn't feel quite so awkward about the embrace. She was half tempted to start swaying them a little as if they were dancing, but that might be a bit too much, especially with how exhausted he seemed. While she wouldn't blame him for falling asleep like this... She's not entirely sure she could support his weight properly or move him anywhere more comfortable.

When he finally stepped back, she stretched out her arms so they wouldn't get too sore. Her smile didn't falter though as she looked up at him, biting back giggles. It's kind of cute, seeing such a big strong guy get awkward over something as simple as a hug.

Perking up slightly at the offer of chocolate, she did accept a piece, but gave him a very gentle nudge as she unwrapped it. "You don't need to repay me or anything, honest." She reassured. "I enjoyed it too, and I'm just glad I could give you a moment to relax, as short of a moment as it was."

Her eyebrows furrowed for a moment, wishing there was more she could do to comfort and support him, but she couldn't think of a single thing... Hopefully that hug will help at least a little bit for now.

"Of course." She hummed softly, an acknowledgement of his gratitude. "We can stay like this for as long as you need." She added, so he knows he won't have to move anytime soon if he doesn't want to.

His eyes light up briefly at the prospect of physical comfort.

He steps towards her, enveloping her in a gentle embrace to avoid causing her any discomfort, despite his wishes. He leans his forehead on her shoulder, closing his eyes.

Lily couldn't help but giggle when he pressed his head into her hand, beginning to gently run her fingers through his hair, even occasionally using her nails to very gently scratch at his scalp. The cat-like behavior certainly didn't go unnoticed, endearing her all the more. If she didn't know any better, she'd half expect him to purr at this rate.

"It's not a bother at all. You're not a bother." She reassured, tilting her head against his for a moment. "I'm here to help however I can."

When he accepts the offer, Lily doesn't hesitate to return the hug. His caution to ensure she wouldn't be hurt or uncomfortable was appreciated, though she still did her best to give him a good squeeze. A little squishing is good for a person!

Letting out a small, content hum when he placed his head on her shoulder, her expression softened as she rubbed his shoulder. For a moment she debated if he'd appreciate it if she ran her fingers through his hair, or if he'd be off put by it. Deciding it best to test the waters, she moved one hand from his back to instead settle it on top of his head.

"You're more than welcome to ask me for a hug whenever you want one." She offered, keeping her voice quiet, almost a whisper.

Lily blinks in confusion watching you run off after depositing the piece of fruit into her hand, head tilting ever so slightly. Shaking her head to dismiss the confusion for the moment, she examined what exactly you had given her.

"Oh, grapefruit! I haven't had this in forever!" She beamed, eating it carefully since she doesn't want to make a mess. "Nice little treat." She hummed to herself, having honestly forgotten how it tasted it's been so long since she'd allowed herself to have any. One tiny piece can't hurt, right?

I am caught up with the main story at the moment, but my memory isn't perfect. Please be patient with me!

About Lily

Lily is my version of the MC, so she follows the MC's story pretty well. Her heart problems do affect her more than they seem to affect canon MC, though, so she is more mindful of them, and she doesn't drink alcohol. She's still a Deepspace Hunter who just wants to help as many people as she can with a resonance Evol.
