My 2 year long dnd campaign ended a week ago, so, it’s time to make new NPCs for the next one!

Vicky the Goblin: she was born with a rat tail so the shaman of her tribe decided it was her destiny to take care of ratdogs (aka goblin dogs). She likes her job a lot though, and wishes more people would appreciate her disease ridden critters.

I definitely wanted to do a movie that started with this sense of invasion — this sense of the fear of other, the fear of the stranger from outside, which I think is a common fear in society these days — and then sort of force the characters to realize the invaders have their faces.

I didn’t want to make just a home invasion, though I utilized that imagery. I wanted the sense of an adventure that was not necessarily a claustrophobic one — that’s a feeling that turns me off watching. I wanted to make this expansive, I wanted it to have themes of night and day.

I wanna take a moment to talk about an awesome, unsung badass: Doug Jones.

Doug Jones. The name doesn’t ring a bell, does it? Probably not. But I’m here to tell you that this bitch is fabulous.

He started out as a mime and a professional contortionist. He got into acting and has acted in over 25 movies and numerous television shows. Still doesn’t ring any bells? Probably because Doug’s gig is characters and crazy ass costumes and shit.

Still not convinced of how badass this guy is? Here’s some awesome for you.

It took him 5 hours to get into the Pale Man costume in Pan’s Labyrinth, and, once in it, he could only just slightly see out of the nose holes, but he was mostly blind.

And the costume for Fauno himself? Well, he could only just barely see out of the nose holes in that one, too. The actual head part was filled with mechanics that made the eyebrows and ears move. And those mechanics were so loud that he couldn’t hear while inside of it, so he had to memorize Ofelia’s lines as well as his own so that he could say them in his head to know when to talk. Oh, and he doesn’t actually speak any Spanish at all, so he was memorizing both his, and someone else’s lines in a language he couldn’t speak.

ya'know, maybe the reason rural, small-town people don’t trust national media is because national news outlets pretty much ignore 85% of the country.

nebraska is literally flooded, at least one person has died and three are missing, 60 thousand have evacuated… and the first cnn article about this went up like ten minutes ago and only mentioned flooding around omaha.

like. i’m from omaha and i’m frustrated by the lack of attention the rest of our state is getting. someone died, and you’re not going to mention that? how was this not a story worth reporting this morning? are nebraskan farmers and small-town citizens not just as important as the californians displaced by wildfires, or southern/east coast people affected by hurricanes?

when we complain about nebraska being ignored, we’re not really talking about not having shows set in nebraska, as much as we might want that. we’re talking about this — thousands of people losing their homes, their livelihood, and yet no one seems to think it’s worth mentioning.

when hurricanes devastated the south last year, nebraskans donated what we could to help those affected. we sent trucks filled with donated items and coordinated with shelters and organizations to make sure we actually sent things that were needed. i’m just saying, it would be nice to see some of that support in turn. even if it’s just bringing attention to this.

I’m not kidding I’ll unfollow you if you post anime or manga or kingdom hearts or anything anime adjacent I won’t stand for it I won’t tolerate it in my life I’m curating my space and cutting out that which does not bring me joy bye bye
