Brooklyn Baby

I think I’m too cool to know ya // You say I’m like the ice I freeze // I’m churning out novels like // Beat poetry on Amphetamines //

Capricorn ∞ Gemini ∞ Sagittarius

I think we’re like the wind and sea //  You’re burning up, I’m cooling down //  You’re up, I’m down //  You’re blind, I see //

Cancer ∞ Virgo ∞ Libra

They say I’m too young to love you //  They say I’m too dumb to see //  They judge me like a picture book // By the colors, like they forgot to read //

Aquarius ∞ Aries ∞ Pisces

I’m talking about my generation // Talking about that newer nation // And if you don’t like it // You can beat it //

Taurus ∞ Leo ∞ Scorpio

Five reasons 'Gatsby' is the great American novel
Can't wait for the new movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio as The Great Gatsby? Here are five reasons The Great Gatsby, that gaudy Roaring Twenties tale of lost love should be ranked as the great American novel

There is nothing more I love than a great, classic novel, The Great Gatsby being one of the highest on my list. Since the semester ended, I have more free time to enjoy and read what I please, and I can’t wait to visit this classic again. There is something very special about The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald created a true, honest rendition of what an American classic should embody. I fell in love with Jay Gatsby for numerous reasons, but one, in particular, is his admiration for Daisy. I feel fancy, liberated, and in pain when I read Gatsby. Fitzgerald has done something truly remarkable. The characters are simple, yet complex and the language is so beautifully poetic and painful, you cannot help but feel similar pain to the author’s agony. I can’t wait to read it again and experience all the things that made me fall in love with the novel initially.

Rihanna, 'Anti' Album Review
Check out our album review of Artist's Anti on Rolling Stone.com.

Since Rihanna dropped this album, I have yet to stop listening to it at least once a day. I have always been a Rihanna fan, but this album escalated my interest and appreciation for her so much more. The raw, honest, dark, deep, sensual beats are what keep me coming back for more; the truth behind the songs resonate in my own world. In my strongest opinion, this has to be one of the top 5 albums that dropped this past year. Rihanna invited her fans into the most personal and intimate parts of her life. There is something about blaring “Sex With Me” that gives me such an intense, liberating feeling while I listen to it. I also love the sexual component to the album. It brings the audience even closer to her and story. Rihanna is outspoken, confident, honest, and raw which I love most about her and Anti.

Everyone Wants A Piece Of This Pie. I Never Get Tired Of My Morning Commute, Looking Out Toward The City

Everyone wants a piece of this pie. I never get tired of my morning commute, looking out toward the city watching hope and possibility bloom. New York City is the place where dreams spark and flourish, anything is possible. I feel grateful every day for being born and raised in the greatest city in the world. It is an honor to have lived here and continue to spend my life here. I embark on a new adventure every day and always stumble on something new. I love your culture, originality, traditions, art and honesty. I feel like the whole world is in the palm of my hands when I gaze out at you.

I am beyond excited to see this movie. Ever since I saw the first preview, I was instantly hooked. The level of violence, deception, cruelness, hatred, and intimacy seem so riveting. The dynamics between the two characters are so intriguing and haunting, I have watched the trailer at least ten times because it is that enticing. I also enjoy the role of a dominant, female character. Just from the previews, Amy Adams seems ruthless, dangerous, and clever, one of the main reasons I am so excited to see this film. I love the haunting, darkness the movie gives off, can’t wait to see what it is all about!

Jaws, 40 years on: ‘One of the truly great and lasting classics of American cinema’
The true meaning of Jaws has been picked over by critics and academics ever since its release in June 1975, and even its status as the first summer blockbuster has been questioned. But isn’t it just about a killer shark?

Jaws, the hit summer blockbuster during the mid-70s, also happens to be one of my favorite movies. As a child, I became fascinated with sharks, the ferocious ruler of the ocean. Jaws did more than just scare beach-goers. The visual effects and dynamic characters portrayed more than just a blockbuster hit, the movie portrayed so many different levels of interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships. It has become an American classic, but the depth the movie dove into is what kept my love for it as if I first saw it. I still get goosebumps when certain scenes are about to happen. I truly believe that is what makes a movie fantastic and an instant classic.

Making America White Again
The choices made by white men, who are prepared to abandon their humanity out of fear of black men and women, suggest the true horror of lost status.

Since the news of the recent presidential election, it is easy to say that people of color and women feel disenfranchised and isolated because of the views of what the American people chose on Nov. 8. It is almost surreal to even understand what actually happened, but as the same time, in order to understand the horror, we must learn why America leaned toward a racist, sexist, homophobic man as our president. Toni Morrison’s article does a great job breaking down the logic behind this chaotic election and outcome. I feel sadness for myself and my fellow peers who have been, are, and will be affected by this outcome.

The 7 Best, Craziest "Westworld" Fan Theories Thus Far
Um, so how many timelines are there exactly?

Westworld has become my new, favorite show! It seriously evokes so many different levels of thinking, it’s mind boggling. It is one of the reason why I love the show so much. It represents so many different situations and characters, it is fascinating. I feel so involved and in relationship with the characters, I want to take part in the Revolution with them. I also like the strong, female characters. The women are figuring things out on their own, they do not need anyone or anything to validate their quest as to who they are, or what they are living in. I am so excited for the future of this show. Continue with your greatness, Westworld!

I am so excited to see this film! I think it is amazing that it's being broadcasted for free around the world. Education is one of the most powerful platforms, and all have a right to access, learn, and understand the fate of our world. This is something that EVERYONE can learn from. Sharing this around the world will only bring us closer and fight for climate change. I was instantly moved when I saw the first commercial. Knowledge is power, and the fact that this is given out for free, makes it so much more special and important to watch and understand the importance of climate change.

Watch Leonardo DiCaprio’s Climate Change Doc Online for Free
"We are committed to ensuring as many people as possible see this film as we head into U.S. elections."
Excerpt:

Excerpt:

By now, you have probably heard that Leonardo DiCaprio has a new documentary about climate change coming out. So how can you watch it? The Fisher Stevens-directed documentary will make its television debut on National Geographic’s channel in 171 countries and 45 languages on Sunday, Oct. 30.

Additionally, in an unprecedented move, National Geographic also announced today that Before the Flood will premiere commercial free across digital and streaming platforms around the world as part of the network’s commitment to covering climate change.

That means not only can you catch the critically acclaimed film on cable, from Oct. 30 through Nov. 6, you can also watch it on just about any website or device where you regularly stream online videos. The exhaustive list includes: Natgeotv.com, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, iTunes, Hulu, Sony PlayStation, GooglePlay, VOD/Video On Demand (through MVPD set-top boxes), MVPD Sites and Apps, Nat Geo TV Apps (iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, Roku, Android phones, Xbox One and 360, Samsung Connected TVs) and more.

The idea behind this historic premiere is to educate as many people around the world about climate change and to also bring the topic to the forefront before the Nov. 8. election where a number of candidates seeking public office—including a certain orange-hued Republican—denies that climate change is even real.
