Starting with Boyle Heights, we are going to visit different neighborhoods of Los Angeles every other week. We believe looking into the history of these neighborhoods is as transformative as making projections to its future. Boyle Heights is a neighborhood east of Downtown Los Angeles with one of the youngest populations in the city. Today, many of our initiatives are located or working in this area, including our Health grantee, Public Matters and our Income & Employment grantees ELACC and LURN.

Did you know an average person spends nearly 30% of their time reading and responding to email?
There’s no way around it, I’m a heavy email user and I wouldn’t be half surprised if I spend nearly 45% of my time processing email. I’ve accepted that email is a huge part of my life and a vital...
Thank you for following my baby blog. I hope so far I’ve, at the very least, made you smile with my posts and reblogs, and admittedly most of this is reblogs.
Tonight I could not avoid it; I watched the news on Typhoon Yolanda (known as Haiyan internationally) and it breaks my heart to see my...
Socialmaterialbank Project (Ongoing since 2010.)
The aim of this project is to encourage and make it possible for the public to participate in this post neo-liberal capitalist world by sharing their thoughts, ideas and possibilities thus sharing in the design of the future.
www.socialmaterialbank.org
Socialmaterialbank.org is an art archive that stores and disseminates social information/material that is collected from the public through art events in art spaces and pop up galleries. I believe that through art we can make the world a better and more tolerable place by giving people access too and allowing them participate in our future.
The initial question asked is – What is your concept, idea and or dream of house/home? The second question is on democracy and we will continue to explore relevant questions.
The events are held in art spaces, pop up galleries and venues that allow access to arts new publics and during the event we make art, in the case of the house/home event we create representations of local living spaces.
