— A Kirk & Lars Oneshot . . .

FLUFF, originally written in Brazilian Portuguese ★

Time is set circa 1995, pictures to help visualizing them

It was early in the morning, he shouldn't be wandering the halls of yet another hotel among the other thousand he'd stayed at, much less knocking on someone's door, even if he knew full well that someone was awake. "You're gonna end up getting kicked out for playing that thing at this hour and I'm not gonna ask them to let you back in," a reasonably short man comments as soon as the door opens, one hand on his hip while the other elbow rests diagonally on the door frame. He had long, honey-colored hair tied in a low bun, a few loose strands around his gently rounded face partially covered by a beard, with large green eyes almost as pale as his skin.

"How can I help you?" the so-called tenant of the room asks, there was a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he looks at him with a feigned tired expression - which he wasn't - and that was okay.

He was taller, had tanned skin and eyes as dark as the purest oak, his hair as black as the night sky and braided almost as a shock factor compared to his appearance before this.

"Can you help me shave?" The Danish man asks with a hint of the slightest smile on his lips, staring into the other's intense eyes.

"No." Although he had moved out of the way for the younger man to enter, closing the door as soon as he did.

"I didn't bring anything."

"Fine" The Filipino just agrees, walking fluidly around the room, turning off the amplifier on the way to the bathroom as the other followed him; Next to the stratocaster on the bed there was an empty vinyl cover, a cover that Lars so well recognized as his favorite album by his favorite band: Machine Head by the honorable Deep Purple!

"You decided to shave out of nowhere?" Kirk's voice breaks the silence in the bathroom as he was bending down to get shaving foam and a new razor from the cabinet.

"Yeah... it makes me look old." The shorter one answers, leaning against the sink next to where Kirk was, watching the older one get up with a dramatic grunt and close the cabinet, putting the things on top of the sink and quickly changing the razor blade.

"I was thinking about shaving my hair... got tired of the braids, y'know?" Lars looks at Kirk and gives a small smile. "I don't know if it's weirder to see you with braids or without hair in general..."

"I ain't gonna get fuckin' bald." He defends, returning the smile and handing a small wall mirror to the other, the bottle of shaving foam in the other hand. Lars accepted the mirror and didn't pay much attention to it for now, more focused on sliding his fingers through the loose strands of his hair and tucking them behind his ears so they wouldn't get in the way, lifting his face and waiting while Kirk covered the entire length of his beard with the foam, his gaze traveling between his hand, his eyes and anywhere else in the bright room.

"Stay still." He warns, grabbing the razor.

"If you rip off my fucking ear, I'll kill you."

"You'll have one left." He retorts with a playful undertone to his seriousness that matched Lars's threat, holding his jaw with his thumb and index finger, his palm facing the Dane's neck; Starting to slide the blade across the shorter man's face, his movements were almost reverential as he worked, his concentrated breath hitting Lars's face, who could smell the brief scent of expensive whiskey.

Lars stared at the mirror attentively, watching as Kirk did a task that he could and should do himself, but was too damn lazy to do... besides, he liked the warmth of someone... anyone (*clears throat*) touching him.

Kirk's practicality was impressive for a full shave, coming from someone who only had a goatee and a thin mustache, and his level of care was actually pretty good, so to speak. The way he never took his eyes off the razor and pressed his lips together in concentration was... nice; his grip on Lars' jaw never faltered, and the way he held the razor was never hesitant. Damn, he was good.

Or was he just taking extra care because it was someone else?

Because it was Lars?

Eventually the task is finished, and Kirk gives the razor the last three taps on the sink to remove the excess foam and places it under the running water to wash.

"All done" He announces, bending down again in front of the cabinet to put things away while Lars bends over the sink to rinse his face and dry it with a towel placed there.

Kirk stands up and crosses his arms, standing next to the Dane who is leaning on the sink counter, sliding his fingers over his own face as he looks at himself, somewhat impressed. "Yeah... you did a good job. Thanks..."

"You're welcome" The Filipino responds with a proud smile that doesn't fail to take the shorter man's breath away for half a second, just like he *always* manages to do... The Dane then looks at Kirk over his shoulder "I saw you were listening to Deep Purple?"

"Oh, I.. was trying to learn one of their songs" He explains, still with the same little smile

"Which one?" The shorter one asks interestedly.

"Lazy." That answer was enough to make Lars straighten his posture, his eyes lighting up so that if he had some animal's ears, they would definitely be perked up right now. "No way!!" He exclaims enthusiastically, an inevitable smile spreading across his lips, something that seemed to never stop happening whenever these two got together. "That's my favorite song!"

"I know!" Kirk's enthusiasm that matched Lars' only made it seem even more intentional, but he wouldn't comment on it... unless...

"Were you learning because of me?" He asks like the predictable little shit he was, which makes Kirk roll his eyes because he was sure Lars would ask that.

"Shut up" He finishes playfully, leaving the bathroom with the other and reaching straight for a bottle of whiskey that was on the nightstand.

Lars knew he was drinking, but he hadn't noticed that bottle there when he arrived for some reason.

"Do you wanna drink?"

"Can I stay?"

They look at each other for a brief moment, the silence showing Kirk's understanding, who realized the shorter one's plan...

"You came on purpose, didn't you?" He asks in a lower but equally friendly tone. "I hate being alone." Lars justifies himself and honestly Kirk wouldn't demand much, after all he would always accept the Dane to stay with him, not just when he was in bad times.

And so the night ends, with Lars sitting on the bed kicking Kirk when he messed up, and the two laughing along to the jazzy song... it was one of the best nights for Lars.

He doesn't regret creating this band.
