magic system where “dark magic” and “light magic” are literal terms - dark magic consumes photons, making an area around the spell visibly darker, sometimes to an Extreme extent, and light magic releases photons.
because of this most dark mages tend to work in very brightly-lit areas (either artificial light or outside in the daytime) to fuel their spells and wear and use lightly coloured clothes and tools so that they’re easier to see in the dimness their spells create, whereas light mages wear heavy, sometimes leaden robes (depending on the work being done) and the magical equivalent of welding masks to protect themselves from what can be an extreme amount of light, and sometimes other kinds of electromagnet radiation!
needless to say this is incredibly confusing for anyone unfamiliar with the culture

People assume Echo is the straightlaced one but i assume if Fives even implied that he was too boring to do it, Echo would freewheel down the senate dome with a jetpack and a pair of rollerskates with minimal hesitation
Star Wars AU where everything is the same, except the Jedi are worried that their men aren't making bonds with people who aren't Jedi or their brothers, so they create a pen-pal program.
And the senate is like "Ehh..."
And the Jedi are basically, "lol, who's gonna stop us?"
So the Clones start getting letters. And then videos. And then physical gifts. And the next thing you know the senate is getting inundated with furious letters about the mistreatment of the clones.
And then some enterprising young thing marries her clone pen pal, and demands rights and payment.
And Palpatine's response is a Galaxy wide announcement that he isn't going to change anything about the Clones status.
And the people who now consider the Clones friends and loved ones, just say, "I think the fuck not." They demand their senators oust him.
And if it doesn't work, they replace their senators.
Meanwhile, the Jedi are watching this with bemused expressions, while they prepare for the seven weddings that they have to attend in the next week.
The Mandalorian extended his right hand towards Luke, who hesitated only briefly before offering his left. Bridger lifted it as he unhooked the clasp beneath his helmet a second time. He shifted the helmet just enough to be able to kiss the back of Luke’s fingers. His lips were soft, and Luke could feel the scratch of stubble grazing his knuckles. Luke’s heart was hammering behind his ribs as the helmet clicked back into place.
“Sleep well, Luke,” Bridger said.
It took a few seconds before words finally found their way back into his head. “You too,” he finally replied.

Padme, the young queen, with her back straight and her face calm and unlined, had to bear their dismissal. Padme, who assisted in the defense of her planet with two Jedi and a boy they pulled from slavery. A boy who called her an angel and did not hesitate to risk his life to help save hers when thousands of galactic representatives so recently declared the lives of her and her planet not worth the risk or effort.
And years later when this boy cries over his mother, only just dead, and admits to slaughtering those who captured and imprisoned her, Padme thinks, “This is a man who will do anything for me, will slay my enemies, will be the anger I should not feel. He is worth the risk and effort.”
