Anyway, deciding to come to Worlds in spite of the lack of cx preparation, at the very last minute, starting from the fourth row and ending up closer to the 30th spot and clawing your back to the second spot, all this knowing your whole life you've had ingrained in you the idea that you have to battle against your eternal rival and you've always been there with him, and now you have to see him fly away from you while you're in the midst of the group and have to dig deep to get to the front, and you have to accept it all and fight hard for a silver medal in a race where you shouldn't even be in, is probably the biggest act of love for cyclocross Wout could have ever done, alongside Worlds 2020.
And I think this is what I love the most about Wout. I'm truly proud of him.
