Create a life that feels good on the inside, not one that looks good on the out side.

Sweetheart, How many human beings does the average person meet in a lifetime? Tens of thousands? More? Of all those people to orbit the sun with, you chose me. I still find that so hard to believe. Can you really accept all of me? Even my poisonous parts? I’ve never felt good enough, for anyone, anything. I cannot love inwardly, only radiate outwards. I think I’m hypersensitive. A word of misinterpreted chitchat can torment me for days. ‘What did I do wrong?’ I’ll ask, ‘What’s wrong with me?’ But when I surrender to you, the hurt is quieter. I forget myself. I used to hate humanity, for its cruelty and sybaritism, but you’ve rekindled my love for the world. Because you are the world. Everyone is. All phenomena arise interdependently. No one is separate. We are a manifestation of the cosmos, and of all the people the universe has ever peopled, you are one of the loveliest. You are a trembling of stars. It’s funny, how we’re all entwined by invisible strings. Y’know, a butterfly flaps its wings and triggers a chain of events culminating in a hurricane. Cause and effect. It’s the same with people. Even our most trivial actions create an ever-escalating ripple. What’s to say, even before we met, we weren’t having some form of conversation? I also wonder, if you ranked every love affair in human history, from the most divine to the least, where in that incomprehensibly vast spectrum would we fall? In amongst the eighty-year marriages, the one-night stands, the love triangles (or squares or octagons)? I like to think we’d trounce them all, princess. Perhaps in time. Ever yours xx
